word play game

[Note: Perhaps this belongs in Off-Topic. But I figured since it deals with common RPG concepts and themes it would be appropriate in the General RPG Discussion forum with a Humor tag.]

Every year, The Washington Post's Mensa Invitational asks readers to take any word from the dictionary, alter it by adding, subtracting, or changing one letter, and supply a new definition. In the spirit of that game, here are some new RPG-related terms some of my friends came up with. I thought it might be fun to post them here and get you guys to help come up with some more:

Rule Playing Game - an interactive and improvisational game in which players and gamemasters devise scenarios designed to test each other's knowledge of the system without actually progressing the storyline.

Spill Casting - casting an area affect spell within the immediate proximity of other party members with the hope it will not affect them either.

Experience pints - awarding out experience points in excessive sums (often for the purpose of getting characters ready for the bad stuff).

Fundead - undead that don't drain levels, points or inflict disease or other icky things. Just stupid and easy to kill (if not found in excessive numbers.

Wall of Cthulhu - that impenetrable force (a monster, walking trees, that crucial clue or counter-ritual written in a language you can't read or speak) that keeps you from getting out of a Call of Cthulhu game alive.

Book of Vile Dorkness - A book which cause the carrier to appear as the most hideous nerd, dork, or geek in a 100 yard proximity. Samples books include the titles C++ Revi[ea]led, Recalculus, Anything with Fungineering, and, of course thanks to WotC, the Payers Handbook v3.5.

Base Attack Bones: Skeletons who attack without weapons.

Mink - new martial arts class; for furries only.

Quarterstiff - slang term for PC who has lost 1/4 of his h.p.

Raise Deed - Legal document granting companions the legal right to raise a dead party member

Spokes - druid spell to turn a common wheel into an instrument of death

Rolearm -- weapon chosen for flavor over mechanics.

Optical build -- Character generation focused on style & appearance.

Sob-optimal build -- Character generation made with insufficient attention to the pain it's going to cause the DM.

Swishbuckler -- A truly fabulous pirate (my favorite kind :) ).

Pint Buy - a system of character generation best enjoyed in the company of friends at the local pub.

Stoveshape - powerful transmutation that ensures your new appliance will fit in your re-designed kitchen.

Rod of Sven Parts - don't ask.

Weight - life-draining undead given to excessive consumption at the buffet.

Warhoarse - the vocal condition of soldiers more proficient at battle cries than warcraft.

Bill Rush - a devious combat maneuver executed by Accounts Receivable.

Cove of Cold - winter boating.

Power Word: Kull - lost R.E. Howard manuscript.

Dire Beer - (regional) Milwaukee's Best, Iron City, Pabst Blue Ribbon

I'll try to work on some more.

Blank Dog - not much of a monster, really . . .

Gratesword - cheese has a new enemy to fear.

Expertease - the chosen feat of seducers and strippers everywhere.

Hart - severely overpowered touch-attack spell that transforms the victim into a deer with 1-4 hit points. No save.

Ammunotion - found in abundance in the quivers of speculative philosophers.

Swing Stones - cheap, easily found rocks used as projectile ammunition that have a great dance beat and jumping brass section.

Paladin's Seed - a Pokémount. Just add water.

Droid - powerful spellcaster that commands the forces of electro-mechanical artificial intelligences given to campy, pompous lament or unintelligible whistles and beeps.

Wall of Farce - impenetrable, improbable satire.

Illusionast - specialized spell-caster who conjures images of disgusting things that aren't really there.

Greed Dragon - a redundant saurian.

Purple Warm - a giant, burrowing, segmented condition described by those in the throes of LSD hallucination.

Forge Rind - item creation feat commonly found among wizards in orange groves.

Expialadotius Retreat - it's supercalafragalistic! (o.k., so that one needed more than one letter change)

Gotta go to lunch. This is fun!
