Doppelganger Mindspy/Chameleon Assassin

Say that ten times fast!

I just finished writing up this guy...if only I knew how long it would take. This guy's one assassin from my other thread, but I wanted to post him in his own since I was pretty proud of (him) and just in case someone had any ideas for better feats/equipment it could be found and discussed easier. I'm aiming for CR 10 but -/+ 2 or 3 that range would be fine as well. (He)'s an assassin who gathers a lot of information about his particular target, mimics their shape and their own combat style to defeat them. There's a few sample impersonations below...lets just say he turned out dealdier than I expected. Design notes at the bottom including a link to WotC's Chameleon class. Plot Hooks:
--A high ranking nobleman is found murdered by own bodyguard, little investigation is done after several witnesses come forward. It appears the bodyguard had a distinctive fighting style with a rapier, which the witnesses described. Before his death, the nobleman sent a letter to the PCs for help, saying he had information about ongoing corruption within his city and that he needed outside help to solve it.
--Someone who resembles a party spellcaster has been traveling to local villages, destroying property and injuring many people, though he has yet to kill anyone. After a little research, the pattern of villages this impersonator is going through seems clear-he's going back to the PC's hometown. Can the PCs stop him in time? And if they do, will they be walking into a trap with more than just the impersonator to deal with?

Tactics:
[sblock]This is one *crazy* doppelganger. It prefers to do extreme amounts of research in order to better mimic an opponent, then requisitions the proper weapons from the guild before attempting to assassinate the target and the target's friends with his own appearance and combat style. Occasionally the doppelganger is used in this fashion to commit social assassination.
As part of a Team the shapeshifter is useful in allowing his side to cause chaos during battle, doubling an opponent or an ally to make things more difficult. An all around good combatant if it chooses to be, this doppelganger is legendary even among his own organization.[/sblock]

Design:
[sblock]Oh my God if I knew how much work this would be I might not have done it. I Am You is the impersonating assassin who kills you with your own style. Doppelganger with Elite Array, Mindspy is such an awesome class from Complete Warrior I had to add 2 levels into it, even if it only adds a little. Chamelon is from Complete Adventurer but can be found online for free Here. There are so many abilities to that class but I think I shortened it down to make it usable. I also included some sample Impersonations to show what he's capable of (it's not really evident in his base stats)...and he is very formidable. Enjoy![/sblock]

Thanks! I really liked the idea and hadn't seen someone stat the whole thing up before so I figured I'd give it a try. I figure it'll be worth it when he gets a chance to meet my players though, if I'm lucky he can survive a fight or two to try out new personas :)

Piratecat-Actually, since he's mostly done, it wouldn't be that hard. I already had a progression for him if he levels up some, not exactly to 23 though. Give me a few minutes and let me see if I can stat one up fairly quick.
 

No spell-like abilities for Half-Fiend, already enough stuff lol. If you want to add them back in though, feel free to! (Oh and I didn't spend that whole last hour since my previous post statting, I had to take a break from stuff, it probably took me about 20 min total. I'm not sure if the following is cool or not, just something if you want him to be really hated by the players more than anything else...I didn't fill in all the numbers since I don't know, but he could use a weapon and some more spells (Arcane spells for Chameleon are done as a wizard, divine spells as a cleric but with access to any divine spellcasting list). If you want an example of another PC done give me a few details (signature details, weapon/armor choice, favorite spell, etc...) and I'll see what I can do. The block doesn't have Anticipate bonuses in it, if he uses that ability he'll gain a +5 insight bonus to AC/Attacks vs. up to 4 targets (see above)

This is bringing back fond memories of a doppelganger and mimic combo I used for a game. One of the players was a ladies man and let's this very attractive lady lead him to her bed only to find he is naked and stuck to the surface of a mimic (which I ruled dramatically increased the DC of the Reflex/Str checks to pull away) as the woman changed her shape. A couple of nasty spell-like abilities for the mimic to sap strength and such and you quickly have a captured (or dead) hero. The best part was later as one of the PCs who was just outside of town walked for a while with a 'tinker', who was pushing a 'cart'. He was so paranoid about the potentially dangerous tinker he didn't notice that his friend was under a blanket in the 'cart' and he actually slipped into the forest and hid to lose the guy!
