i was thinking of purchasing this of drivethru, just because I never owned this. Is it worth it? Are the new kits any fun, and does it include a undead hunter type of kit? What about the NWP's, they any good?

Thanks.

In my view, the book tends to focus too much on the knightly paladin archetype.

It does have a decent selection of kits, including the undead hunting Ghosthunter.

The new NWPs are Bureaucracy, Diagnostics, Jousting, Law, Oratory and Poetry. I don't think they are generally very useful, but this depends on the type of campaign the DM is running.

Can't say if the kits are any fun for sure, but there is a ghosthunter kit, which is a hunter of evil undead of all kinds.

The new NWPs are Bureaucracy, Diagnostics, Jousting, Law, Oratory and Poetry.

Hope this helps a bit.

Edit: Scooped.

The Complete Paladin's Handbook was, IMO, one of the better books in the series. There's a cool wyrmslayer kit in there. I would recommend picking it up.

Does the ghosthunter get any special benefits? Such as bonus damage against undead?

Also, there was an official 2e kit called undead hunter or Vampire Hunter...anyone know which class that was for? Ranger maybe?

IMHO this was one of the better "Complete" books from 2e. I am not certain where my copy is, so I can't give you any info from it- but I recall really liking it.

The special benefits were:
1. Ability to cast dispel evil an increasing number of times per day
2. Immunity to paralysis and the ability to cast remove paralysis an increasing number of times per day
3. Improved ability to turn undead (as a cleric of the same level)
4. A half-hearted suggestion that the paladin's deity might give him an opportunity to obatin a specific type of undead-focused holy sword, before he reaches 6th level, subject to the DM determining the circumstances. Availability does not guarantee acquisition, offer void where prohibited by law, etc., etc.

In exchange, the paladin gives up:
1. Lay on hands
2. Spells
3. Immunity to disease and the ability to cure disease

You might be thinking of the Undead Slayer kit (for any class) from the Complete Book of Elves.

Sweet! Getting it now.:)

However, Bladur's Gate 2 had a paladin kit (undead hunter I think), any idea where that came from, and its abilities? (I have bg2, but its a pain to install it) Also,
I bet the inquisitor is similar to as presented in Baldurs gate 2. :)

Drive thru also has complete elves, I really want to get it for the bladesinger class. But then again, I also want the Ninja handbook.

So just a few more q's:

Is the Ninja Handbook worth it? What are the martial art rules like? (i.e. do they simply confer a bonus to damage when fighting unarmed or something?)

What kind of stuff does the Undead Slayer from complete elves get? And is Complete Elves a good product? (Also, would it be possible to port a blade singer and an undead slayer into a 2E darksun game without ruining the feel of Athas?)

The complete ranger...is that worth it? I'm looking for some ranger kits that don't have spells but offer alternate abilities.

Lastly, how is complete barbarian? 2E didin't even have the barbarian class, so this book looks kind of odd,

It converts 1e Oriental adventures into 2e. It allows much more than a bonus to the martial arts style from the PHB. A bunch of abilities from the martial arts system later became feats in 3e (deflect arrows for one).
