I noticed a strong trend in the threads that I happened to read (I won't say what that trend is for fear of affecting poll results), but it got me thinking ....

Just referring to any 4e games that you play that only has the core 4e gods --

What Deities have been chosen as the God(dess) of choice to be worshiped by your PC or by another PC in your group?

This could be cleric, or paladin, or even someone of another class that strongly associates worship of a particular deity as part of the core character concept (i.e. a wizard who worships Ioun and makes reference to it often enough beyond character background).

Not talking NPCs or what not...

You can select more than one if you have more than one worshiper in your group or are part of several groups, etc..

Of course, there are still only a few responses, but the initial trend is sort of what I was noticing in other threads -- lots of people mentioning the Raven Queen as the deity of choice.

Unsurprisingly (to me), Bahamut is second.

However, I am surprised by Avandra's spot at third (so far anyway).

And poor Sehanine in last (so far)... of course, while she does have a place in the pantheon, I would be hard pressed to take that for my own PC when compared to some other choices.

As for Melora... I'd imagine once the next PHB comes out (with the Primal power source) we'll probably be seeing more of her.... ;)

I play a elven ranger/cleric of Melora in the same group that has a cleric of Pelor and a (now deceased) paladin of Bahamut.

The other game we just started, my warlord worships Bane. Another player runs a paladin of Bahamut (hmmm, a trend, lol).

The game I run doesn't use core gods (or any, really, for that matter).

Half the worshippers in my group used pregens, at least to start. That skews the results.

We did have a deliberately made, non pregen paladin of the Raven Queen, and also a cleric of ??? (he died quickly).

Currently? Bahamut and Corellon. And we had a cleric of Pelor, too.

But I readjusted the gods to suit my own needs...

I removed Ioun, Kord, Raven Queen, Vecna, and Sahanine and replaced them with Aphrodite, Thor, Anubis, Baba Yaga (was the BBEG in our 3E campaign), and Phantazia (once a PC in the old campaign, now a deity).

In the game I play in now, my character is a rogue with a particular devotion to the Raven Queen, while my wife is playing a paladin in service to Pelor. I don't think any of the other PCs have much of a religious preference.

Among 6 PCs I have a dwarf fighter who worships Moradin, a half-elf cleric who worships Sehanine, a human warlord who worships Avandra, and a dragonborn paladin who worships Kord.

In our current 4th edition game we have a group of six which pans out like this

Tiefling Paladin - Bahamut
Tiefling Warlock - Infernal pact
Dwarf Cleric - Kord
Half Elf Warlord - Corellon
Dragonborn Wizard - Himself
Dragonborn Fighter - Every single God he can find, worships every single one because he knows one of them kept him alive just can't figure out which one

So I've had to tick all the gods in the Poll.

In both the games that I run and the games I played in, The Raven Queen has been the #1 Diety of choise. Followed closely by Bahamut. Thats it, none of the other Gods seem to matter at all to anyone I know.

It might be that I'm not paying attention. I'm sure some wizard somewhere in all this worships Ioun or somthing.
