Inspiring Non-Gaming Websites

I've tried to collect all sorts of non-gaming websites which are nevertheless highly inspirational for gaming. You can see my efforts so far here.

What websites did you find useful sources of inspiration?

I use a lot of online dictionaries and translators (right now I have bookmarked a Gaelic one ) because I make a point of making up names that have at least a hint of meaning in a different language. Recently I've used this site for alchemical symbols. Finally, my campaign is set in the world of Magic: the Gathering, so I use a related wiki.

N55 is a group of designers and artists designing various useful and very cool items (such as housing units, collapsible hygiene unit and so on) which would be great for sci-fi, cyberpunk, steampunk and post-apocalyptic settings.

(Note that there are also some slight political/philosophical content on that site, but I'm posting it for the art/design inspiration, not the politics or philosophy).

wikipedia is my absolute favorite. Sometimes I'll just look up random stuff when I'm looking for inspiration. It never fails to provide just that. And as a resource of real-world info, it's unparalleled. I keep a permanent shortcut for it.

Those were awesome links cmrscorpio. I made shortcuts to all of them. I've also made a shortcut for this thread. This is a great collection of sites.

Well, I'm trying to one-up it with the Arcana Wiki, but I realize that I'm not quite there yet...

Oh, don't get the wrong idea. I think the Arcana Wiki is awesome, and it can only get better. It's a really cool project that I hope keeps getting submissions that make it even better. So, nothing against Arcana Wiki, but I do love me some Wikipedia.

P.S.: I have a shortcut to the Arcana Wiki also.

Nifty - and also for all the other, non-alchemical symbols on the site!
