Wow, talk about lots of information. We got a fair portion if not all of the Class Features, and also a ton of Powers.
The Bard really is a versatile Class; a huge Class Skill List, Multiclass Versatility, Skill Versatility can cast ordinary Rituals and Bard Rituals. Wow...
I am thinking too there will be some manner of Blade-Bard, Blade Dancer or Bladesinger PP given that it mentions Songblades and in the Weapon list both Longsword, Short Sword and Scimitar are listed and not other Military Martial.
Also can't find any mention of Patrons as was talked about in the Preview Books. Seems they want for simply being a practitioner of Arcane Magic.

This month's ampersand has a preview of the first 10 levels of the the bard and powers for one build, the, "cunning bard."
Interesting things to note:
1. bards can multiclass into as many classes as they like
2. there are new rituals specific to bards
3. the bard has quite a skill list
4. it seems to play like a ranged warlord mixed with an illusionist

Ah, finally...my bard can take the Linguist feat and truly be a Cunning Linguist.
What???

I'm wondering if I could actually add a Bard to my current game. We are currently on the cusp of level 7. We average a level every three weeks, and between now and the the middle of march is 132 days. 132 days=19 weeks. 19 weeks is 6 levels plus 1 week, so if the pattern holds, we'll have just gained level 13. Luckily, classes don't get class powers at level 11 or 12. We'd have to reskin a Warlord or Cleric Paragon Path for the Bard, or require multiclassing(which could also cover the level 13 power). Multiclassing isn't a terrible option, since the lack of Class feats would leave the Bard a few free.
I'm sure we'll get more of a preview of the bard at some point, maybe some level 13 powers, maybe a Paragon Path before then. Surely in the month leading up to PHB II.
And again another awesome class that I would play in an instant
To bad that we didn't get to see some weapon-powers since I always pictured the Bard to be a mixture of Martial and Arcane Class (attacking with Weapons and Charming with spells). But I am quite sure that they concentrated on Implement Powers in this Article so that we can playtest them already.
Hmm... I just wonder if you count as a martial Class if you multiclass to a Rogue. That would enable you to become a Bard-Rogue Whip Master (Weapon-Multiclass needs you to be a Martial Character)
The Song of Rest is weak IMHO since in my experience you usually use your leader-healing in the restphase (10 minute Rest versus 5 minutes is normally not a problem). If the song would be as strong as Majestic Word at level 6+ then it would be awesome but at the moment I would only see use at low levels and if the whole group is down (where you might need half a dozen or more Healing Powers and therefore 30min+).
