What's new with the GSL?

There was much gnashing of teeth when the GSL first showed up. What's new with the GSL?

Were the desired changes made?

What's on the 4e horizon for third party publishers?

Why am I seeing third party PDF stuff for 4e but nothing at the game store?

The last I read on a recent EN World thread was the Rouse had revised the GSL singlehandedly as his co GSL crusading buddy Lurking Lidda (Linae?) got fired some time back. The new document wound up in the hands of the Hasbro lawyers where it has languished for months.

The pessimist in me says it wont get revised but I wouldn't be surprised if the something came through in late 2009. It is my impression that Hasbro's lawyers are hostile to the concept of a GSL.

Really? The pessimist in me is concerned the Hasbro lawyers may mistook the GSL for Charmins.
