6 months ago, I put up a poll here on ENWorld, calling it the Changeover Poll.
That poll was about whether people changed over to 4E, stayed with 3E, or went somewhere in-between in their gaming. This poll asks the same question, but now more time has passed since the advent of 4E. So this is the Changeover Poll Redux, as it were.

This poll is exactly the same as the old poll, with the exactly same wording in the questions, and the exact same poll choices. (Hopefully, for the sake of consistency, I can get 1,000 votes once more, as I did with the first poll.)

I am curious, now that enough time had passed, to see if the results of that poll were holding, or if things had changed. So here the Changeover Poll is, once more, after a 6 month wait, after Gen Con, after the release of 4E FR, and after a number of other new developments.

I leave it in your hands to vote, if you would, in this new poll.

Just fine tuning this - Its probably better you don't post your reasons why you switched or not so this doesn't devolve into edition wars...

I was curious how this poll would look if it was a specifically 4E from 3.5 reference, omitting 1E, 2E, C&C, etc.

It may not, I just was thinking about how many old-schoolers there are here playing 1E and C&C, etc, who could possibly care less if 5E or even 6E came out tomorrow...

There are so many possibilities there. You might try adding as many options as ENWorld would allow. For example:

1. Switched to 4E from 3.5
2. Switched to 4E from 3.0
3. Switched to 4E from a hybrid 3.5/3.0
4. Switched to 4E from a rping games other than D&D (specify.)
5. Switched to 4E from a hybrid of 3.5 and other rping games.
6. Switched to 4E from a hybrid of 3.5/3.0 and other rping games.
7. Stuck with 3.5
8. Stuck with 3.0
9. Stuck with hybrid 3.5/3.0
10. Stuck with hybrid 3.5 and other rping games.

Remember when the only choices were OD&D, 1E, Dragon, and a few other games (like ICE) ?
I do. I fondly remember that time, too.
But I am so very glad to see all the nifty new stuff, too. The veritable Niagra of it, as I have noted on my main Changeover thread.

Since the limit on ENWorld poll choices is, what, 16? ... I couldn't create a poll to cover this. (If this board allowed 100 poll choices, though, it wouldn't be enough.)

My current (though on hiatus) 3.x Planescape game will continue its mishmash of 3e and 3.5 rules for its duration. Any future D&D game I run, I'll strongly consider Pathfinder and I'll be pitching it to my players for their consideration (and doubly so if -ok... when- I run a campaign in Golarion).

The 3.x FR game I'm playing in is likewise using a 3e/3.5 mixture, with no desire to change to using 4e.

There's also a Shadowrun (3rd) campaign in the group (which I'm in) and a Mage (oWoD revised) game (that I dropped out of for time reasons, sadly). And there has been a floated idea for an Oriental Adventures game 3.5, with 4e not even in the discussion.

As I stated in EoN's thread, going back to 3.5 after trying 4e. I liked it, the players (cept one) didn't. Easier to go back to 3.5 (which I don't mind, tbh) than find all new players to keep with 4e...

Beyond that, I might look into Pathfinder (when the "final" rules are ready) or another house-ruled 3.5 game. Or Star Wars Saga, if the mood fits. I MIGHT even convince them all in a year (with much more stuff out) to try 4e again. Who knows.
