Highest level you've played

Rediscovering the level range for the H4 - Throne of Bloodstone module (AD&D1) -- for levels 18-100 -- prompts me to ask this question:

What's the highest level character you've ever played in any edition of D&D? A character you played for at least one game session.

What's the highest level you've ever heard of someone playing in any edition of D&D?

The PCs in my Shackled City campaign (3.5e) were 19th level for that last session. They levelled up to 20th at the end of the campaign.

I think I managed to get a PC up to 4th level one time. I don't get to play much. :(

Edit: How could I forget? My first character ever was an 11th level Thief (1st Edition)!

I played up to 23-25th level in an AD&D2 campaign. (I don't remember exactly what level I was when the campaign ended.)

I met a player at a book store, during the AD&D1 days, who told me he had a 36th level cavalier.

70th level in 3E; 30th level Wizard, 30th level cleric, 10th level Mystic Theurge. I had to work my way up to 70th level from 1st level.

Kicked the stuffing out of Shar.
