The Qullan lives!

I was just perusing the 4e monster manual and I realised that one of my creations from the 1e Fiend Folio lives in there - he has been renamed and given some new friends, but the Quallan has basically been reskinned as the Foulspawn Beserker (level 9 soldier)!

Evidence?

Exhibit a) he has a 5' radius beserker aura that makes people randomly target creatures within their reach. The Quallan radiated 5' radius confusion.

Exhibit b) he has the mental feedback on being attacked by a charm effect, in this case it does the beserker and its attack 10 psychic damage.

Huzzah! My creations live!

Qullan: I love these guys. They ended up becoming foulspawn berserkers. Check out the berserker's aura - its obviously derived from the qullan.

Isn't it funny, how sometimes seeing someone else your material in-print is actually more satisfying than getting into print in the first place?

BTW, we fought one two sessions ago. Our fighter was the only one who tangled with it in melee and was the only one affected by its aura; ironically, it still worked out for us, since a pair of foulspawn grues were always nearby and they were the ones who took the hits. No one except for our warlock had a power with the Charm keyword and he never used it against the hulk. It was one of the last creatures to go down, but it didn't really have a chance once all of our ranged characters began to concentrate fire upon it.

The Qullan was revived in 3e as well. Sean Reynolds did a conversion of them for the Living Greyhawk Journal. I forget which issue . . .
