WotC: H1-H3: Please put up art and map galleries

TerraDave

5ever, or until 2024
Dear Wizards of the Coast,

You have provided art and map galleries for many "D&D" products in recent years. But you have failed to do so with your first three adventures for "4E". This is a sad and troublesome omission. It is almost certain that those will be some of the most heavily used products of the edition, and the ones that will encourage and inspire many games by people who may, or may not, continue to buy said 4E products.

These galleries provide great utility, especially in the context of an adventure. They simply make it easier to present information and prepare for play. And of course they help market the product.

But of course you know that, as you have provided so many. Yet there remains a “gallery gap” that includes H1-H3. I will not speculate as to the origins of the gap. I will simply ask that you eliminate it. Please.

Sincerely and with Much Thanks,
Terradave

PS: galleries for other gap products, especially P1 and the Monster Manual, would also be nice.

I second this.

And I would go so far as to say P1-P3 as well. For as much as I appreciate 4E's stated design goal of lowering prep time, I feel that one area this has actually increased is mapping. Specifically tactical maps. Given that areas are typically larger in 4E and they have more "doodads" (i.e. terrain specials, difficult terrain etc.) it seems like a no-brainer. Don't get me wrong, I really do like the new encounter write-ups and it's fun to have more map-related tactics, but it has taken up more of my prep time.

What's interesting is that they just released Delve maps, and Dungeon maps for this month. Can we hope for the published module ones as well? Sites like the Cartographers Guild do an excellent job of filling this need, but really it would be nice to get direct from the publisher.

Lastly, I really used to love the map-a-week column, and mined it heavily as a great game resource. Here's hoping a WotC member reads this :)

Thirded. Please. Even if you have to make them DDI-exclusive. You're giving us art and map galleries for each individual issue of Dragon and Dungeon, so why not these?

Good idea.

Excuse me if this is tangential, but one of my favorite things was when we'd get the art gallery for new sourcebooks before their release. I think back to the 3.5 Eberron run, numerous MMs, Fiendish Codex/Libris Mortis/Lords of Madness/etc. and get warm fuzzies. Now we don't get art galleries for any sourcebooks, right? Correct me if I'm wrong.

If I'm not wrong I wish they'd make a comeback somehow!

Another vote for map and art galleries for the current adventure path. Especially high-resolution (non marked-up, preferably) maps.
