Yes, it's this weekend. This one is really odd...

"In the spirit of Dungeon Mastering, we're giving you the opportunity to create and show off your very own adventure! Work as a team to build encounters using the materials provided. After your team has finished, play another team's adventure or DM the one your team created. We provide you with everything you need -- maps, miniatures, monster stats, and how-to instructions. Just bring your imagination, a pencil or pen, and some dice!"

The more I think about the idea, the more I like it. (Especially with the ease of creating 4E encounters).

So, are you going to participate in the game day?

Cheers!

Yes! :)

Like the two previous times (PHB2 and MM2), I'll be running a table at a games store here in Rome. Even though I wasn't impressed by the previous adventures (the first one, in particular, was awful) I had lot of fun.

From what I understand, this time it will be possible to customize the encounters choosing from a pool of monsters.

I'm running at The Game Shoppe and I've got the PDFs and jpg maps of the event.

The idea is a team builds the adventure given some basic components, like a pool of monsters. You devise a theme and two encounters. Then your table and another swap adventures and run them.

I wanted to run an event at my FLGS, but I have never been able to get my shop listed as a venue on Wizards site.

Every time I try to add a venue or click the email tab it gives me a page error.

I guess I'll have to use the 800 number and try to get set up for some other event.

I can't think of a worse idea to promote D&D.

"Come spend hours arguing with people and finicking over rules to do all the boring grunt work that goes into making an adventure so that someone else can enjoy it!"

Yeah, not enthused.

One thing of note: people who plan to actually DM that day may wish to bring along a couple of extra figs and stats for monsters in the 6-8 level range that go well with either A) worshippers of Asmodeus or B) allies of the Far Realm. Despite the claim that there are more monsters than you need, there are probably less.

There is a nice, streamlined adventure creation process; it's designed to take about 50 minutes. The idea is to introduce people to a little bit of adventure creation.

The character sheets for the pre-gens are nicely presented. I'm looking forward to hosting this on saturday, and hopefully participating!:D
