Preach it brother! The issue of weapon users getting continual bumps to their damage while the implement users don't is... disappointing to say the least.
Cheers
working on this.
So, back in May DMShoe (a.k.a. Stephen Schubert) indicated--if a tad vaguely--that the not-inconsequential discrepency between weapon users, with their big, bad, superior brutal high-crit weapons and iron armbands and bracers of archery, and implement-users, with their quaint little d6 and d8 damage popguns, might be seeing some redress in the future. I commend him for this, because it's the closest I've seen to an official acknowledgment that the discrepency exists, and it's a bug not a feature.
I've been somewhat reticent on following everything coming out of the WotC hopper these days. Has there been any progress in this direction that is worth mentioning? I think we've come far enough in this edition to realize that feats like Astral Fire are not functionally identical to the boost provided by superior weapons. And I think we are mostly aware now that non-AC defenses aren't generally any easier to hit (rather, AC is adjusted to offset weapon proficiency bonuses). Are implement-users going to see any boosts in their mojo, or was it just a cruel jape? I've pretty much given up on my warlock at this point. Much as I love the character, it's just too painful to watch it underperform.
