What Would Far Realm Creatures Do With 31 Dead Goblins?

That's the question.

My players left 31 goblin corpses unattended for 8 hours. In the interim, horrible creatures from the Far Realm stumbled across the bodies.

Generally, I think that the players will return to find the corpses arrayed in some inexplicable pattern, each with the top of its head missing and its brains scooped out.

But I'm taking suggestions if anyone can think of anything better.

The Far Realm entities do nothing.

However, their mere presence has a purtifying effect on the corpses and from those rotting hulks, strange bugs, plants, and eeriely growing fungus have taken root.

The goblins have been turned into bizarre flesh golems guarding a beacon stone. Roughly half of the golems guard the beacon while the other half go out to kill more creatures (travelers, wildlife) to create more bizarre golems. The beacon stone radiates strong necromancy, and animates the golems.

The golems are not aesthetically pleasing. They hop, crawl, slither, shamble, or what-have-you. None of them are identical, but each uses about 3 goblins worth of mass. They should have appropriate bite, claw and bludgeoning attacks.

If the players kill those guarding the beacon, the others out hunting will return and use the bodies as spare parts for more golems. If the players are foolish enough to leave a dead party member behind, that party member's corpse will be broken up and added to the golems.

Each of the goblin corpses has turned into a human corpse. The clothes and such have all been enlarged proportionately, but otherwise nothing has changed; all wounds remain just as the PCs left them, the bodies are otherwise intact, etc.

They have managed to make a fantastic flesh machine. A mechanical monstrosity; with grinding cogs of bone, organic pumping vessels, pulsating pustules. At its centre is a control centre made of cerebral material harvested from the goblins.

The flesh machine grinds, farts and pumps hideously for a number of hours before birthing creatures from a anus like protrusion. It draws it's energies from the far realms the creature are its guardians, it is ultimately in a state of metamorphosis; it will start to shape the dungeon around it and turn into a gargantuan monster or conduit to the far realm.

EDIt: The guardian creature seek additional organic material for the flesh machine. They will drag screaming creatures to a grinder like maw; carry bundles of wood, shrubs and other plant matter; even earth and rocks.

They turned them into 15 and a half dolgrim (from Eberron Campaign guide) zombies
Man, this was one of the first things I thought of, too. Or maybe 14 dolgrims and one three-headed, six armed, elite dolgrim :)

Or maybe the different parts of the dead goblins detach and combine. So 31 livers = goblin liver monster, 62 goblin eyes = many-eyed abomination, 62 kidneys = ... well you get the picture.

Though right now I think I am voting for Nifft's Baskin Goblins idea.
