interesting to note a new base attrtibute (communication) that seems like it will serve as the key attribute for the deception skill (rather than being rolled in to cunning as it was for the video game). not a bad thing, just something i noticed.

over all, based on this short preview alone, it's a nice layout and the system looks very slim (an simple can be a very good thing if you don't like bloat).

edit: of course, combat sections might be more complicated, but if class is this simple (compared to class sections of other rpgs) then, yeah, that's why i'm saying it's slimmer.

It's hard to judge from this preview alone, of course, but the write-up reminds me of a much simpler version of the D&D 3.5 rogue.

It'll be interesting to see where this goes. I, for one, fear the resulting game will be so reminiscent of D&D that, given the support D&D has, I'm going to end up playing D&D instead.

What is known about the system so far:

3d6 +ability modifier (-2 through 4) + focus (+2) vs a target number.

The 3d6 consist of 2 dice and a dragon dice, which is somehow important for stunts. The dragon dice also indicates degree of success where this is important.

Boubles on attack rolls generate stunt points.

Stats are generated 3d6 in order, with one swap allowed.

Backgrounds modify 1 or more stats, provide 1 or more ability foci, determine your race, limits class choices, determines languages.
