Below are listed the adventures produced by TSR from 78-88. Basically over the life of original AD&D and B/X D&D.

You have almost certainly heard of Against the Giants, Vault of the Drow, and Tomb of Horrors. You probably know of Castle Amber, Isle of Dread, and Expedition to the Barrier Peaks. Theres even a good chance you are familiar with the Ghost Tower of Inverness or the Forbidden City.

But how ‘bout Test of the Warlords, or Blade of Vengeance, or the intriguingly named War Rafts of Kron!?

Well, not all modules published pre 1989 are automatically classics.

Test of the Warlords- First published module for the Companion BD&D rule set. The PC's explore new lands, clear hexes, establish strongholds, play politics, and continue to adventure in new surroundings.

War Rafts of Kron -A BD&D expert set waterborne adventure. The PC's assist a tribe of merfolk with a problem IIRC. Many of the X series modules featured a good deal of wilderness exploration opportunities.

Blade of Vengeance was one of my favourites as a kid. You only needed one DM and one player, so ideal for a seventh-grade sleepover. The player played a nebulously gendered elf who returns home to see his/her home in Aelfheim being destroyed by humanoids. He/she then kicks some seriously vengeful ace, takes on the mantle of a long-dead elvish hero, and attacks the enemy leaders in their own lair.

It was awesome - I remember playing it, and DMing it for others. The authors and illustrators were all British, and some of them were also involved in the Fighting Fantasy gamebooks, so the module had the feel of a an amped-up FF gamebook (in a good way).

I still have it, and I would never part with it. I think I wrote a review of it when I was 13, and I gave it 9/10.

(I reviewed all my modules back then, but there was no audience for them besides myself....)

L1- Great sandboxy adventure module with a completely detailed town and its surroundings, including several dungeon locations.

L2- A murder mystery full of political intrigue; the first module I know of with a timeline.

M1 Blizzard Pass was a solo adventure using invisible ink.
U3 The Final Enemy was the wrapup to the Saltmarsh trilogy.
UK1 Beyond the Crystal Cave took place in a hidden garden and required a good deal of parley and roleplaying instead of combat.
UK2-3 The Sentinal and the Guantlet is one of my favorite series of all time.
C4-5 were a linked set of RPGA competition modules.
I8 Ravager of Time sees the PCs stricken with rapid aging. In addition to the normal effects on the characters stats, the module had a list of old age quirks that beset the characters.

N4 is a mod where you are a bunch of 0 level commoners shipwrecked and you become 1st level characters as you adventure. Pretty fun.
