I need a city - looking for product recommendations

My PCs are headed to a big blank spot on my map where there's supposed to be a city. I do have some details, but it's just not enough to really fire up my creative engine. At this point, I'm looking for an interesting published city that I can mine for ideas.

Here's what I've got so far:
- it's the Inspired city of Dar Qat on the western edge of Xen'drik.
- there's currently a population of about 12,000 living there (95% human or Inspired).
- city alignment is LN/LE.
- it's a port colony that exports crystal back to Riedra
- an invasion force is gathering there, consisting of Riedran soldiers and thrall fodder.

I'm open to any recommendations... books, magazines, online content, whatever you've got that's full of awesome!

The Lost City of Barakus features a very un-lost city of Endhome as the PCs' base. The city is nicely detailed without being over-elaborate and contains a number of adventure seeds and mini-scenarios which can be adapted or dropped in to play.

City State of the Invincible Overlord. Newest version by Necromancer Games, licensed from Judges Guild.

Bards Gate is too good for what you need.

I think Sterich was reasonably well detailed in the issues of Dungeon that had the Greyhawk maps printed with them (118 to 121, I think)

Endhome from LCOB, mentioned above, is certainly another good one.

You could adapt Waterdeep to the job.

There are lots of other cities that have been done over the years, but I certainly don't have a photographic memory with which to recall them all.

If you have Ravens Bluff you can likely adapt that to your needs as well.

Tantras, and many others, I am sure.

You can also check out the Evocative City Sites for specific locations (with maps, battle maps and npcs). I've done one book for that series. Follow the link in the sig and go from there for the others.

The best collection of cities (and the best format for them) I ever saw was Forgotten Realms Adventures. A bit hard to get a hold of it in this day and age though.
