Where did all the drow go?

Seriously, it seems like there's been only one drow adventure in the past five or six years.

Last major drow adventure was City of the Spider Queen around the time of the War of the Spider Queen novel series.

Only drow adventure I've seen since then was the pathfinder Second Darkness adventure path.

I'd say "Dig a little deeper".

One thing I remember reading (can't remember the source, but it was a major one...either a WotC dude or someone from Paizo or Goodman) is that drow stuff SELLS. (Drow and demons/devils).

I'm not saying you are wrong overall, but I'm suggesting that there are likely more things out there than you suspect, including hidden smatterings here and there.

Where have all the dark elves gone?
Long time passing...
Where have all the dark elves gone?
Long time ago...
Where have all the dark elves gone?
Gone to Driders, every one,
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

Where have all the the Driders gone?
Long time passing...
Where have all the Driders gone?
Long time ago....
Wher have all the Driders gone?
Gone to Yochlol, every one,
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

Where have all the Yochlol gone?
Long time passing...
Where have all the Yochlol gone?
Long time ago....
Where have all the Yochlol gone?
Gone to spiders, every one,
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

Where have all the spiders gone?
Long time passing...
Where have all the spiders gone?
Long time ago...
Where have all the spiders gone?
Gone to dark elves, every one,
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

The Auld Grump

Sadly, the drow became really badly overexposed. It reached a point where having drow involved in a setting/adventure/supplement was actually a negative selling point (to me at least).

I'd much rather see WotC/Paizo leave drow alone for a time, and concentrate on using some of the game's other cool bad guys for a while. And then, in time, they can start using drow again... a little.

(They're a bit like the Borg in Star Trek - when first introduced, they were cool and deadly. Then, over time, they were used so much that they lost their mystique, became routine, and eventually became boring. I guess that may be inherent in having a recurring "ultra-deadly" villain where the needs of the story are that the heroes triumph 99% of the time. Personally, had I been running Star Trek, I would have imposed a rule that, "Every time you use the Borg, someone we care about has to die, permanently.")

4E is planer focused, and drow are not planer. I am glad for the switch, as it gets rid of a very overdone enemy. Putting most drow at paragon levelwise does not help either.

Well, there's your problem right there. Push that success rate down to 60% where it belongs and *nothing* gets boring. ;)
