I have set up a poll at another forum, and in the interest of expanding my sample size, will do so here as well. hope you all dont mind. Anyways.
Please select the versions(s) of D&D in which you are currently playing a game.

If it's not too late, I'd add an "other," since a lot of OSR folks feel they're playing D&D, even if the box itself says something different (much like Pathfinder does, while clearly being a D&D descendent).

That might be worth while, but what I want to avoid is people picking "other" rather than BECMI, just because they are using house rules, or some parts of another system. Maybe a better question would have been "which of the following best describes the DNA of the Version(s) of D&D you are currently playing?"

Fair enough. I put down 3.5, which I'm running, but also 1E, because I think it's probably the closest to C&C, which I'm also running. (And which will probably have a bunch of Pathfinder tweaks added to it ...)

I voted 2E, but that is because, IMO, that is the closest edition to which I run my C&C games. I could also argue for me to have voted 3E as well. Just hard to say.

Im fairly interested in the stats behind this at a larger scale as well, such as, which versions are more preferred by people who also play other game types, etc. Example: Which version of D&D is most preferred by people who also enjoy FATE...things like that.

I think it is also interesting to see whats being played as opposed to what's being sold, given the recent comments from Paizo's CEO.

Will do. I plan on also gathering more data at GenCon. I will collate it all together when done and hopefully be able to give some interesting conclusions
