Share Something Cool

I wanted to start a thread of just cool gaming-related links to things you've stumbled across from blogs, forum posts, new gaming aids, advice, etc. Pointing out the diamonds in the internet rough. The intention is for this to be edition (and somewhat system) neutral, but whatever works.

First, I'd like to point out One Page Dungeons - this has been a contest for the last three years. In the spirit of Old School terse adventure design, it's a competition for making the best dungeons/adventures that fit on a single page. Here's the winners from 2011, 2010, and all entries from 2009. The links to links of all content are here. And if you're interested in submitting a One Page Dungeon for 2012, you can go here.

Next, ChattyDM over on Critical Hits developed an interesting way of doing on-the-fly dungeons. He presents the formula over here and continues talking about it here; while he is talking about the 4e Red Box, the on-the-fly dungeon is purely system neutral.

Have you found anything new and/or cool to share?

Jonathan Nelson and Todd Gamble are running this website and so far, things there have been a blast. They're still in beta testing, but the world they've created has a great flavor to it. I think the plan is for them to go live on February 1st. They do have a free adventure to try, though.

The best part, for me, is that they've allowed the beta testers, of which I am one, to create content and give ideas for the game world. I personally have created five new Cleric Domains, a location for the game world, and worked with another beta tester to create three new, but related, Sorcerer bloodlines.

They are a subscription service, but I think it will be worth it.

I've plugged this before, and I know many others use it, but I love Dave's Mapper.

Randomly generate maps instantly. I use it when I want to find a map that matches some vague idea I have. Or I'll regenerate maps until I find one I think looks interesting, and then build an adventure around it.

(BTW, as part of the stop SOPA/PIPA initiative, it's redirecting today, 1/18/12. Try it tomorrow!)

Just stumbled across Make your own Mythos, a website with tutorials on making your own gaming props.

It is aimed at Cthulu-style stuff, but there's help on how to make your own ancient books, statues, and such. Other things which easily could be used for arcane whatsits, not just Old Ones whatsits.
