Dunbar supplied a light riding war horse (incl. tack) for each party member.
Marching order:
Eanos and Mordik in front, Odno and Aletheia in the middle, and Quarion and Garma on rear guard.
Watch protocol:
first watch: Eanos/Aletheia
second watch: Quarion/Garma
third watch: Mordik/Odno
This will make for a twelve hour rest to give everybody an eigth hour rest.
Mordik strikes out hard at the Kyton. It seems off-mark as it bounces off a link of chain wrapping.
Ally heals Mordik with her wand.
Quarion curses as his spell power fizzles away. He takes his empowered quarterstaff in both hands and runs at the chain devil, landing a solid hit!
Eanos, bolstered by Mordik's solid hit, quickly stoops and picks up the demonstone. Holding it aloft he bellows, "I hold the stone that called you, beast! Cease your attack!"
The Devil sneers Eanos "And I will pry it from your cold, dead hands... mortal."
With that four chains around Eanos come to life and lash out at the monk.
While three of the chains test the Eanos's defenses, the fourth lashes at the monk's neck, cutting a deep bleeding wound.
ooc: Eanos takes 15 damage from a critical hit.
Total damage: 22 (to the Kyton)-regeneration (Quarion's weapon isn't silver nor good)
The Devil sneers Eanos "And I will pry it from your cold, dead hands... mortal."

Eanos bites down on a cry of pain as the chain lashes out. Trying to focus past the pain, he smashes his fist into the palm with the gem, hoping to shatter it.
"Quarion, that method of attack seems inefficient. It will resist much of your damage and the rest is nonlethal and will be quickly regenerated. Granted, we may have no better option at the moment."
(OOC: I can't remember how much Mordik is missing, but if he seems likely to survive two attacks, she'll Shield of Faith him. Otherwise, she'll heal him with the wand for a measly 3)
Mordik sees the Kyton's attention shift, and strikes a wicked blow on the Kyton's side.
Quarion takes his staff in both hands and slams the Kyton on the head with his glowing weapon.

Unfortunately the gem proves harder than his fist and the attack leaves the gem unscathed.
Ally waves her wand and touches Moridik with it as she releases a small stream of positive energy from it (healing Mordik for 3 damage).
(and Odno assists).
The Devil turns it's attention from Eanos'seemingly futile attempt to smash the gem to a nasty dwarf who keeps hitting him in very painfull ways.
It swimgs a chain above it's head and strikes the dwarf with it. The chain hits hard.
Ooc:
Mordik takes 7 damage. Good thing Ally just healed him or he'd be at 0 hp!
Total damage to Kyton: 47 minus DR and regeneration.
That was a funny cross-posting action! I just edited my response as I read the part where you stated to heal him if he ouldn't take 2 attacks, after I made the post.
Will you stick with the shield of faith or go for the CLW?
(OOC: I'd feel like a cheater if I let knowing the outcome influence my decision. Of course, if I'm lucky, SoF makes the attack miss? She'll heal Mordik this upcoming round before he attacks so he is at 2, rather than 0 (lousy roll again. Arrrrrgh!) and isn't staggered. But as I expected, this looks like a TPK--I think the issue is that Eanos alone makes this a level-appropriate challenge due to being level 5, but the critter's DR is such that he can't possibly hurt it without a crit, so it's like he isn't here. I'd have been greatly impressed if the rest of us could actually beat it. Quarion, got a healing spell for Mordik? We might stand a ghost of a chance if so.
Also, it looks like Eanos has an Adamantine Dagger--ignoring hardness is worth it for the sacrifice of the d8 damage dice for a d4 instead)

ooc: The attack would still hits with the SoF.
With those 2 hp healing from Ally plus 7 from Quarion Mordik is at 9 hp. Now let's see what kind of damage Mordik will inflict this round.
