I really liked the episode, though a few problems with the remote control ship and it's "passengers" had us trying to figure out how they did things.

How come they didn't have the ship go to warp and squish the intruders? I think the warp drive is malfunctioning but maybe not.

And remote control? Faster than light communication? How they gonna explain that away?

I liked this episode as well; it was much better than the previous two. Jeffery Combs does such a good job playing Shran; it is always a highlight when he is in an episode.

I would have given this episode a grade of 'Highly Enjoyable'
if not for that final scene. Instead I gave it a 'Heck Yeah!'

Hooray! I did not see that one coming.

its not bad, but I think it would be better if they didn't show the romulans hjust kept refering to them and let us guess.

Uh, subspace? It does have an awesome range (how many times has Picard talked to someone on Earth in real time while many, many lightyears away?).

I couldn't agree more. He lights up the screen, even when given cheeky dialogue.

Archer and T'pol had a few Kirk/Spock-esque moments which the show needs more of. It's always fun when Trip and Malcolm get to go on a mission together or are stuck in a situation together. Archer thinking that he may be in over his head was a good touch.

Things that I regret: Budget!!

Man, I remember the days of DS9 when we would get at least a minute or so of awesome space battles, manuvers and such. This time around we get the results but none of the action. This is really a minor gripe but I couldn't help but feel that if the writers had their way that there would have been multiple cuts to the outside to show the firefights, getaway and evasive tricks.

Anywho, I like this arc very much. It's about high time we get some seeds of the Federation. And if UPN decides to keep the show for the requisite 7 seasons we could very well get to the Romun Wars. You know that's where this is going...

What a great episode. The ending completely blindsided me, and I blurted out "COOL!"

Been a while since I could say that about Star Trek. Feels good.

Plus, you've got to give props to

1I agree that this was a very good episode. It's a damned shame that Enterprise is finally finding it's sea legs and it will likely be cancelled (no direct evidence, just a gut feeling). Also, I saw that B&B are writing the final episode this season. With so little hands-on involvement this season, I can't say I'm looking forward to this.

And I'm surprised people think there will be a big reveal with the Romulan controller under the helmet. I doubt it's anyone of importance.

And it will not surprise me, that during the next show, the ship get destoryed, and a massive feedback pulse, will probably fry the brain of the VR pilot.

I got scared on the opening scene with Hoshi and Archer going at it, but midway, I saw a smirk, from her, that calm my fears...that everything was cool...I hope .
