They appear to have, ah, debugged the situation. Or at least they think they did.

It was either a one-off episode, used to illuminate character's fears, or it was that plus they were carefully setting some seeds for later.

Felt more like a filler episode, though they did at least use it to play a little with the characters.

For me the bigger revelations were how traumatized Rush was actually by the encounter with the aliens, and that Scott's Icarus Base affair is still jealous.
The other scientist claustrophobia might be relevant later. That Grier doesn't trust the civilians wasn't a surprise. Though this experience might have changed something for him - after all, he nearly killed someone due to the hallucinations playing on his paranoia. Not sure we'll see much out of Chloe's visions of her father.

One thought I had watching the show is that they might actually all be infected, and they are just seeing those ticks. Seems that's not what they were going for.

Another theory I just came up with is that the ticks weren't merely ticks, but some kind of alien information gathering tech.

Well, I guess neither theories will hold true.

Space ticks. For some reason I'm reminded of space herpes from the horrible but campy movie "Ice Pirates".

So, did Scott or Chloe first get the tick? Then, was it Chloe or Scott who passed it to the other? Then, using the tick infestation, can you track who Scott and Chloe slept with next on the ship? Seeing as how I didn't see the episode I can only participate with wild conjecture while reading everyone else's posts. :p

They're just getting us used to seeing Riley around so we'll be surprised when he turns evil, seemingly out of nowhere, and to throw us off the scent of Chloe being the Lucian Alliance member.

For a filler episode, I thought this was pretty good. I'm thinking SGU may be hitting it's stride now, because I think this is the third or fourth episode that I've enjoyed more than nit-picked (no pun intended).

Greer was awesomely scary; JWS deserves some props. The only thing I really didn't like was the bit with his father at the end. It seemed shoe-horned in, and was working fine without it. It took me out of the scene a bit.

Rush going berserk with the pipe made me crack up.

I didn't catch it until someone else pointed it out to me, but Wray is wearing different shirts depending on if she's a hallucination or the real thing.

I found myself liking Chloe this episode, which was a pleasant surprise. I'd have liked to have seen her in previous episodes mourning her father, to really drive home the emotions in this one. It was also a nice way of showing that the ticks weren't just showing destructive emotions.

Is it wrong I cheered when Lt. James bashed Scott's head in? :p Of course, as soon as it happened I knew it wasn't real, and I was suspicious beforehand, because it didn't seem like Scott would sleep with her and Chloe both.

One thing I barely caught was the time line of events. It's only talked about in a couple of throwaway lines, but at first it seemed like they got them from the Old Galaxy. However, they got to the new galaxy, planet hopped, came back, and that's where we enter. It could have been made a little clearer.

I wasn't sure what they were going for in the end. Was it that planet hopping can be dangerous? We've seen that plenty, since the beginning of the series. I get it being unsettling for the infected people (and Wray), but for the others? It just seemed like an excuse to throw in a second musical montage (blah). I'd rather see them throw something like a Kino episode.

So, did Scott or Chloe first get the tick?

Scott and his away team (Lt. James, Dr. Volker, snake-guy) got them, with the exception of the one woman who was unaffected. From them, Greer and Rush got infected from extra ticks, and Chloe got hers after TJ tried to remove the one on Scott and it jumped to her.

Have I mentioned how much I wish they'd emphasize names a little more?

They're just getting us used to seeing Riley around so we'll be surprised when he turns evil, seemingly out of nowhere, and to throw us off the scent of Chloe being the Lucian Alliance member.

If they included more of the Kino scenes in the show, it'd be more effective. He's a lot more part of the crew in them.

Except that in her hallucination, Lt James killed the other Lt.. So there should be ramifications for that later on.

I'd still like to see her and Eli get together.
