At least the series is ending a pretty high note, this episode was pretty good. Liked that they brought back Leo and that D'Haran general from the beginning of the season.

This show drives me crazy. The loopholes in the plot are huge.

Also, how is it possible that every character suddenly gets to wherever they need to be? When soldiers leave days ahead of the main characters, the next scene is the main characters lying in ambush for the soldiers. Do they all have magical teleporting powers that we don't know about?

AAaaaaaaggghhhh!

The Midlands are kinda like the Feywild. Distances change based on the character's needs. ;) The one time we saw a map in this show it probably spanned a max 5-square-mile area.

While watching this I turned to my husband and said, "Didn't we just learn that Rahl was the first baneling? That shouldn't have changed in this reality, should it?" So, either Rahl was lying when he said he was a baneling or good benevolent overlord Richard has been giving him somebody to kill once a day. Is that one of those plot holes you were talking about?

That's a big Raimi-ism. Remember, Hercules and Xena could get anywhere in Greece they needed to be in a short jog, as long as they waited until after the first act to realize they needed to be there.

Villains, of course, enjoy special first-act prerogative. Darken Rahl has ample time to gather up his men and destroy the forest of the nightwisps, despite the fact that the Seeker gang headed there directly after they parted company with Rahl (granted, this is somewhat facilitated by the Seeker gang opting to walk everywhere).

As far as the most recent episode goes, I don't recall the protagonists lying in wait for anyone, except for Zed and Kayla debating the wisdom of ambushing Rahl, and Zed *does* have magical teleportation powers.

Darken Rahl and his soldiers set out before the heroes, but the heroes were hiding beside the road when they passed--after they captured the Seeker.

I mean, I've heard that story moves "at the speed of plot" but this is ridiculous.

I will keep watching it, though, as there is no other "fantasy" show on TV--and I hope it gets miraculously renewed for next season, too. B-)
