Dear Hollywood,

I am sure Connan is going to be awesome, unfortnutely using every movie trailer cliche to sell your film only suceeded in making me laugh and did not impress me.

I mean seriously how many screams, growls, roars, etc. can one place in a trailer "in an attempt to show the raw savegery and adrenaline pumping gratuitous nature of the piece's violent action" before you reduce the emotion you are trying to illicit into a running gag? I personally, began to laugh after seeing Conan, an eliphant, the Villianess, some bald guy with slaves, and entire group of warriors all going "Rawr!" within the span of 15 seconds.

Oh and what's up with the michel bay explosion?

I think we're going to get a smarter, more physically flexible Conan than Arnold's capabilties as a bodybuilder and actor would previously allow. When they first announced Jason Momoa for the lead, I suspected it was going to be a good fit. Certainly, the setting, production values and special effects are all going to benefit from the advancements in technology. I'm very hopeful about this coming film. We might have ourselves an excellent pseudo-D&D movie if the movie lives up to the promise of the trailer.

I am cautiously optimistic. While I have abandoned all hope of seeing a good Conan film, this may yet turn out to be a fantasy action movie worth watching, and there's never too many of those. This trailer looks pretty, though I think there wasn't enough Momoa's acting in it.

I will definitely miss Arnold's accent as Conan, though. :)

I liked him on SG Atlantis, so I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt until I see otherwise. I haven't been watching Game of Thrones, but if he can pull off Khal Drogo, I suspect he will pull off Conan.

Don't shoot me, but the trailer reminds me of the new Clash of the Titans, not the Conan I know from the original movie, comics or even Howard's stories.

Hopefully that is just the result of trying to have it appeal to the general public, but I'm not real hopeful at this point.
