We do have an objective that is more to the whole point of this trip. We need to acquire the horn, which is what Maccath came here to procure.

Sorry, I really didn't know what to do with the frog, but mainly life got crazy and ENWorld decided to stop notifying me once again. I'll try to keep up better again.

Dandin looks up at the flurry of sounds from down the hall and rushes to see what is going on. He pulls up short and guffaw a the creature once he can see it. "Aww, it's just a kitty cat with wings! Don't worry folks, we'll have this mopped up pretty quickly." Dandin grinned at the people and winked. Viscious Mockery Will DC 13 or psychic damage and DA on next attack.

Sorry, been highly distracted by life lately. Also, the app has stopped pushing alerts again... Mord studied the creature for a long moment. He was no stranger to wide assortment of intelligent beings that had visited his once-home city, but never had he seen one such as this. And a frog, in the icy depths such as this was quite an odd experience for him. "You may inform it, (him or...

Dandin looked around as everyone seemed about two different agendas. Making a decision, he called out. "Everyone! We need to focus on getting these people out of here safely! There's no telling what the greenskins will do next, especially with their general killed. Enseth, we need to warn Daggerford about what we've seen. It'll be the best way to protect against the red wizards."

"Perhaps it too creates simulacrum to indulge it's whims." Mord returned to his usual form as he reached the last step. The scythe floated back to his hand and he studied the blade for a moment before discarding the blunted weapon. He proceeded to study the environs of the room they had entered while the others scouted. "Pah. I would like to replace my bodyguards, but not with vermin. ...

Harb stepped out, bow drawn and fired an arrow into the 'flock' despite the magic guiding his aim, he missed his mark. But the shot was meant to anger the avians and draw them in more than anything. Before they could react, the monk slipped back to stand between their approach and Weed. @gargoyleking & @Fradak From where Harb is, he can't see Tarri and Kasqa's struggles, but he has a very good view of Rodrigo, Qawasha, and Imogen. Chrysagon, on the other hand, can see everyone. Do you both want to concentrate fire on a single pterafolk (say, the one on Rodrigo), or would Chrys go for the one trying to drag Tarri away? In other words, any target preferences here? Edit: Looks like Chrys can focus-fire with Imogen if you want to go after the one on Tarri. I will go with that if I get to resolving it before you have a chance to reply. In which case, don't worry about it!

...else. OOC: I will go from here assuming the permission is granted. "If I may suggest, Captain, we could repair these ships quicky and safely once we're in a sheltered cove. There must be someone among you all that knows how to draw. And one of the magic items here can create what is needed to repair the ship. Or food and water if there is no shelter close by. And remember that you're alive because we're here and you now have two ships. The Gods provide the righteous and The Wise say: Keep your lives free from the love of possessions and be content with what you have, because God has said, 'Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.' And here we are - you went out when no one else dared - and, lo and behold, here you are, with two ships instead of one. Dishonest money dwindles while those honestly gathering bit by bit prosper." The idea is that The Captain maybe relinquishes his claim on any of the magical items and we help them by repairing the ships - mending spell gargoyleking ? If we have to we can paint what we need including better ship sides - but idealy we would save those for when we really need them. What do you all think? Enseth & the Elves Enseth stomped into the room and ORB2 came out from under the bunks and thrust itself at one of the gambling goblins. While the goblin pushed back its chair and swatted at the little construct, the Shield Guardian slammed his hammer-fist into the filthy creature, crushing it to the ground. The elves ran in and spread out around Angis and Titus. They all fired arrows to wound, rather than kill, as it had been discussed that Dandin would try to lull them to sleep with his magic. Unfortunately, they were trying to be a little too tricky and only two out of six arrows found their mark: Tarthagal shot the goblin with the fire-poker in the shoulder and Ganalan shot the meanest-looking of the goblin gamblers in its arm. Neither goblin fell, and Averiel (to her shame) missed with both her shots, striking a bedpost instead. Just Dandin to go! gargoyleking Damage Taken: (BGs) GoblinGambler1 2; GobGam2 12 (Dead); GoblinFirepoker 10; GoblinBoss1 10 (PCs) None; (NPCs) None Averiel vs Goblins. Darn it, I completely forgot about the necromancy discussion of a few weeks ago gargoyleking , I wasn't trying to spoil things :( I'm sorry. Mord probably has a lot to teach to Kalorn, seeing how Kalorn doesn't know he himself is a warlock (there was never a formal pact after all). That's what the roleplay is about, Kalorn's ignorance of warlocks, and thus confusing Mord as a necromancer.

Ancalagon Yes, I understand and accept all that. You, as a player, know what happened and have been told what I am thinking. FitzTheRuke Yes, this is also true. Other Sticks had suspicions (or have said they had suspicions) of him, too. Miss Imogen has not betrayed any of the PCs. gargoyleking I don't know what "played her hand way too early" means. We've been with these characters a calendar year at this point. Whatever in-game time has passed, I do not agree that a year into play there is not the opportunity for a significant character choice. No one is discussing my proposal that we keep the ring but not wear it. I also do not have clear indications on whether you want me to walk back the hiding of the ring. Whatever happens, she is not going to lie about it: she will say it is hidden, or she will say that she has it but believes it is better not being worn with us than being worn by Cimber.

... good. No problem. It's interesting, all right. Two things: a case could be made RAW. That the tho for samurai only last as long as the advantage does. I donít think that is the intention, but I see that reading. I can find a thread that discussed it if you are interested. I'll go read it. I see what you mean, but I think it's a stretch. You gain Temp HP when you use your focus. You lose 'em through battle, or after a long rest like the usual rules. Also, I donít know if Miss Imogen gets any more opportunities to save against the ring. Right! Let me check. Yup. She does! After [roll0] HOURS. Feel free to deprotagonize me, if that makes the fight go smoother. Otherwise I will keep going. No way to avoid the opp attack, but additional distance might avoid other attacks from the party (unless they run to Miss Imogenís Defense, naturally). Good thing my map keeps going! She can go into the statue, but she might get caught in there, so she'd probably avoid it. gargoyleking, Harb can make an Opportunity Attack against her, unless you already rolled one too many. I don't know if you used that Ki point or not.

Oh I wasn't asking you to justify the score, just commenting on how good he was (sometimes "tone" is hard on a forum, sorry!). It would make sense that a mystic has highly developed senses. Kalorn is just wary - been ambushed a few times. He can sort of see in the dark/invisible creatures with his familiar. I guess the real question is how Sesto will react when he catches on... gargoyleking: clearly I don't have a high perception score since I don't remember much about where that dagger came from (maybe it was a part of the adventure where Mord and Udit weren't together?) or how it works. Does it need corpses for replacement, or victims?

Well, that's six out of the eight of you. I only seem to have five characters in the RG, though. Let's see... I need a level 8 Mord posted, I believe gargoyleking. And if hbarsquared is still in, we need Windspeaker posted to the RG as well. And if Prickly Pear is in, a level 8 version of Sesto or SnorLoska (though I suspect Setso is best). I'm starting on my prep work.

Enseth, ORB2, & Angis vs Worg1 Enseth strode out of the bushes and a beam of bright light shot out of his chest at a Worg that was rushing toward him. The light seared the wolf-like-creature's face, and remained, lighting up weak spots as ORB2 dove down repeatedly shocking the creature's ears, distracting it. The beast leaped up, slamming both front paws onto Enseth's shield as Angis burst out of the brush. The Dwarf hacked a shallow blow into the beast's brow-ridge with his axe, and then, as Enseth's light showed vulnerability in the creature's snarling snout, he slammed his thick-fingered fist into the beast's nose. The Worg snorted, then as its eyes rolled back showing whites, it fell on the ground, stunned into unconsciousness. It went down from a punch, so I'll say it's alive, but KO'd. BTW, Dandin has not gone for this round, gargoyleking. Damage Taken (BGs) Worg1 21, 5, & 3 (KO'd) (PCs) None Worg1 vs Enseth (missed) Attack: 1D20+5 = [3]+5 = 8 2D6+3 = [6, 6]+3 = 15

Drui takes his time walking around and checking everyone else. If anyone needs help, he's eager to do so. If not, Drui finds a silent spot and remains seated, praying and meditating on the situation. [Spending a die as well; I don't really know if he took damage from any event, but that's just in case. Thanks for the extra die, gargoyleking! If anyone needs an extra, I'm also up for healing - I've kept it so far to be used during battle, by it's here. :)] 1D8 = [4] = 4 1D6 = [5] = 5

I also know a lot of the players had multiple PCs and got to see more of the adventure. It was a different experience for me because I really didn't know what was going on in the rest of the dungeon. One day I'll have to read the other threads. I find it astounding that you rant that in real time with multiple groups - were they multiple GMs? gargoyleking: Bobranthus rubbed Udit the wrong way, I wonder if they would have overcome that... the one I'm the most upset about losing is Kurzon - until the player dropped off the face of the earth, he was a good contribution to the game. In a way it's worse than a PC death. Hope the player's ok... I'm sure that hbarsquared 's NOPATHUK WINDSPEAKER will be a worthy replacement :)

(RG) Rise of the Dracolich: Imani's Tower (IC) Rise of the Dracolich I may be a sucker for punishment, but I'm gonna do it. This is a thread to discuss the possibilities of a sequel to my Vault of the Dracolich game. It's probably full, as I will give dibs to the players of that game, but if enough of them are tapped for games I will open up a spot or two. (Let me know if you're new to it and want dibs on any spot that opens up.) This will be a mashup of stuff pulled mostly from Rise of Tiamat, mixed with some other stuff. @Ancalagon @EarlyBird @Fradak @gargoyleking @Prickly Pear @tglassy You are all, of course, invited to play, but you are under no obligation to. If you've got enough on your plate already, and (like me) were looking forward to the break when Vault ended, feel free to drop out. We can always work you in again at another time, too, if you like. We will be starting at level 8. In most cases, I assume that will mean levelling up your current Vault character, but feel free to make a new character. 500gp budget and 1 uncommon item. Array stats, but feel free to move a point or two here and there with point-buy. I will make a new RG, but for now, let's just talk about who's in, and who you want to play. (I would like a bit of a break, so I don't think we will actually start until August, but you never know. I'm obviously already thinking about it more than I should.)

Perhaps Neuroticís character could fall from the sky at that moment, lending aid. I can also skip past the fight. But, that means you lost, and will have to live with that. And it may not go well for you if you choose that route. If not enough come back, or if those that do want to make new characters, then Iíll assume this ship was lost at sea. The choice is yours. And Neurotic, you may join and create your Warlock. If you are an angel of some kind, youíve been severely depowered because of the Faith Sickness, which is why you are mortal, but the rest of the story is up to you. We can work you in pretty quickly.

Sesto, SnorLoska, Aquaria & Auraia Sesto and SnorLoska got themselves into position near the Teleportation Circle. Everyone was keen to go, but unsure as to if they would be needed, so they lingered outside the circle, which would immediately send them to Imani's basecamp on the nearby mountain. Sesto's Angels stood in a line between him and the dragon, swords held to their foreheads. Aquaria and Auraia also got into position, ready to execute a quick plan involving teleportation. It was only Mord, who lingered near the staff. Just @gargoyleking to chime in. Is Mord going to jump back down and head for the circle or go for the staff himself, or what? He is, after all, right in front of it.

Why would we have gone to the flint side? We were heading to the tavern. Hmmm... I'm not sure. Maybe it has to do with the confusion with "Up" being "North" as opposed to it being "Forward"? I know I sometimes get the two confused. Could have been me, could have been you. At any rate, the "Bunkroom" is under the Flint. The Jester's Pride Cellars is south (or "down" on the map) across the bridge. There is no activity from the hallway to the west (the left side of the map). The defiled (now not as much) shrine was to the east (or right on the last battle-map). The goblins indicated that you should go west after crossing the bridge if you want to look for the General, or east if you want to look for the Red Wizard. ORB3 can scout beyond the door, but it can't actually open the door on its own. At the moment, I'm not sure anyone has left the Bunkroom and gone on the bridge, so ORB3 can't proceed until let through the door.
