Mord took Sir Isteval up on his offer, though he didn't ask him directly. Instead he made his way to the market with servants in tow and purchased a Dungeoneers pack for each in Isteval's name.

Not sure, I'll leave that up to your purview. Touch of Death At 3rd level, when you reduce a creature within 5 feet of you to 0 hit points, you gain temporary hit points equal to your Wisdom modifier + your monk level (minimum of 1 temporary hit point). Harb was surprised by the suddenness and ferocity of the attack. But less so, perhaps than his companions. He'd noticed the missing...

Dandin enlisted one of their guides and disappeared shortly after everyone had begun to settle in. They reappeared shortly after dinner had been served with Hanar in tow and a few more apples from Dandin's stashed cart. Apples were shared out as requested and as Dandin sat to eat he picked out the seeds and made a little pile. Once he was done he took them to the dryad as an offering. ...

Mord took the opportunity and quickly ushered the Mordguard out of sight so as to be out of mind. A small smile lit on his lips as he descended having basically pulled the wool over the man's eyes so smoothly. With luck he'd be able to keep them out of trouble until they had left the city.

Stepping to the side with his entourage, the warlock took the opportunity to let the wizard do any necessary interaction with the man for now. ...

Oddly enough, I'm thinking about having Dandin find an affinity with animals. He's going lore, so going to go kind of crazy in the skills department. This might lead me the way of druid spells come level 6. Might be a bit of a duality issue for him because he's definitely a city kid and may have some trouble balancing the two. Thoughts?

Mord summons his followers and they follow him upstairs and array themselves around him as he prepares to be transported to their destination. He shows some interest in Imami's transportation method, though he doubts he'll ever be able to use it himself. He had access to his own teleportation magic, though it was short range and of limited utility by comparison.

The utility provided by Fleshreaver, (though, perhaps he should find another name for it), was too great to pass up. And besides, it would stick in the collective craw of his estranged family. Of course, that is assuming that the roll would be to spot the act of palming the ring rather than what Is was suggesting which is simply noticing that it is now missing. Harb should be able to do that much in the process of seeing to Artus's wounds and paralysis.

Mord will do his best to keep them away from Sesto in the event of a turning. But he won't exactly cry if they do get turned. He isn't sentimental or anything. To him, it's just another form of rebellion and a utilitarian tool for him to give himself a bit of extra protection. Also, Sesto has seen the dagger in action already and he'll recognize it on sight.

Lol! Appreciate the buff. Harb is just trying to let the Entangle do its job. No need to sit there and let them gang up on him.

A resounding **THWACK** was heard as Harb's quarter staff struck the ghoul across the head. He followed up with a kick before dashing away while doing his best to avoid the subsequent retaliation. The entangle might not delay them for long, but Harb was not about to risk letting 3 of these creatures get close to him all at once if he could avoid it. Quarterstaff(V) with Advantage:...

Btw, Chrysagon probably doesn't want to attack if he's trying to keep sanctuary up. It fails the moment the target makes an attack or targets an enemy with a spell.

Galahad had found himself entirely unable to react for several seconds as his mind reeled from the psychic attack. The arrival of the newcomer and the invoking of his own chosen deity helped to draw him out of it though. Realizing that the attack was simply a puzzle for him to solve he put his mind to work and quickly found a way to block the noise from his mind. Wearied from his ordeal he...

After completing what repairs he could, Grody found his way to the breakfast table with the others. He skulked around just enough to draw the attention of his classmates, but hopefully not those of the townsfolk in the inn, and found the darkest spot he could to sit. Of if nothing else sought out a place with his back to a wall. He ordered a simple breakfast and waited nervously for the next...

Realizing that the sun is coming up, Grody dashes back into his room and dresses up again, doing his vest to disguise his draconian features, though there is little to do about the tail sticking out of his clothes. Once complete, he scrounges arounf the room and outside of the window, picking up all of the broken glass and any other fragments. Then painstakingly begins to put the pane back...

... good. No problem. It's interesting, all right. Two things: a case could be made RAW. That the tho for samurai only last as long as the advantage does. I don’t think that is the intention, but I see that reading. I can find a thread that discussed it if you are interested. I'll go read it. I see what you mean, but I think it's a stretch. You gain Temp HP when you use your focus. You lose 'em through battle, or after a long rest like the usual rules. Also, I don’t know if Miss Imogen gets any more opportunities to save against the ring. Right! Let me check. Yup. She does! After [roll0] HOURS. Feel free to deprotagonize me, if that makes the fight go smoother. Otherwise I will keep going. No way to avoid the opp attack, but additional distance might avoid other attacks from the party (unless they run to Miss Imogen’s Defense, naturally). Good thing my map keeps going! She can go into the statue, but she might get caught in there, so she'd probably avoid it. gargoyleking, Harb can make an Opportunity Attack against her, unless you already rolled one too many. I don't know if you used that Ki point or not.

Oh I wasn't asking you to justify the score, just commenting on how good he was (sometimes "tone" is hard on a forum, sorry!). It would make sense that a mystic has highly developed senses. Kalorn is just wary - been ambushed a few times. He can sort of see in the dark/invisible creatures with his familiar. I guess the real question is how Sesto will react when he catches on... gargoyleking: clearly I don't have a high perception score since I don't remember much about where that dagger came from (maybe it was a part of the adventure where Mord and Udit weren't together?) or how it works. Does it need corpses for replacement, or victims?

Well, that's six out of the eight of you. I only seem to have five characters in the RG, though. Let's see... I need a level 8 Mord posted, I believe gargoyleking. And if hbarsquared is still in, we need Windspeaker posted to the RG as well. And if Prickly Pear is in, a level 8 version of Sesto or SnorLoska (though I suspect Setso is best). I'm starting on my prep work.

Enseth, ORB2, & Angis vs Worg1 Enseth strode out of the bushes and a beam of bright light shot out of his chest at a Worg that was rushing toward him. The light seared the wolf-like-creature's face, and remained, lighting up weak spots as ORB2 dove down repeatedly shocking the creature's ears, distracting it. The beast leaped up, slamming both front paws onto Enseth's shield as Angis burst out of the brush. The Dwarf hacked a shallow blow into the beast's brow-ridge with his axe, and then, as Enseth's light showed vulnerability in the creature's snarling snout, he slammed his thick-fingered fist into the beast's nose. The Worg snorted, then as its eyes rolled back showing whites, it fell on the ground, stunned into unconsciousness. It went down from a punch, so I'll say it's alive, but KO'd. BTW, Dandin has not gone for this round, gargoyleking. Damage Taken (BGs) Worg1 21, 5, & 3 (KO'd) (PCs) None Worg1 vs Enseth (missed) Attack: 1D20+5 = [3]+5 = 8 2D6+3 = [6, 6]+3 = 15

Drui takes his time walking around and checking everyone else. If anyone needs help, he's eager to do so. If not, Drui finds a silent spot and remains seated, praying and meditating on the situation. [Spending a die as well; I don't really know if he took damage from any event, but that's just in case. Thanks for the extra die, gargoyleking! I also know a lot of the players had multiple PCs and got to see more of the adventure. It was a different experience for me because I really didn't know what was going on in the rest of the dungeon. One day I'll have to read the other threads. I find it astounding that you rant that in real time with multiple groups - were they multiple GMs? gargoyleking: Bobranthus rubbed Udit the wrong way, I wonder if they would have overcome that... the one I'm the most upset about losing is Kurzon - until the player dropped off the face of the earth, he was a good contribution to the game. In a way it's worse than a PC death. Hope the player's ok... I'm sure that hbarsquared 's NOPATHUK WINDSPEAKER will be a worthy replacement :)

(RG) Rise of the Dracolich: Imani's Tower (IC) Rise of the Dracolich I may be a sucker for punishment, but I'm gonna do it. This is a thread to discuss the possibilities of a sequel to my Vault of the Dracolich game. It's probably full, as I will give dibs to the players of that game, but if enough of them are tapped for games I will open up a spot or two. (Let me know if you're new to it and want dibs on any spot that opens up.) This will be a mashup of stuff pulled mostly from Rise of Tiamat, mixed with some other stuff. @Ancalagon @EarlyBird @Fradak @gargoyleking @Prickly Pear @tglassy You are all, of course, invited to play, but you are under no obligation to. If you've got enough on your plate already, and (like me) were looking forward to the break when Vault ended, feel free to drop out. We can always work you in again at another time, too, if you like. We will be starting at level 8. In most cases, I assume that will mean levelling up your current Vault character, but feel free to make a new character. 500gp budget and 1 uncommon item. Array stats, but feel free to move a point or two here and there with point-buy. I will make a new RG, but for now, let's just talk about who's in, and who you want to play. (I would like a bit of a break, so I don't think we will actually start until August, but you never know. I'm obviously already thinking about it more than I should.)

http://www.enworld.org/forum/showthread.php?556718-Undead-Apocalypse-Hero-Roster Here are all the old characters. Just to alert the others: River Song Shayuri Fradak gargoyleking If everyone comes back, we’ll just pick up where we left off and continue the fight. Perhaps Neurotic’s character could fall from the sky at that moment, lending aid. I can also skip past the fight. But, that means you lost, and will have to live with that. And it may not go well for you if you choose that route. If not enough come back, or if those that do want to make new characters, then I’ll assume this ship was lost at sea. The choice is yours. And Neurotic, you may join and create your Warlock. If you are an angel of some kind, you’ve been severely depowered because of the Faith Sickness, which is why you are mortal, but the rest of the story is up to you. We can work you in pretty quickly.

Sesto, SnorLoska, Aquaria & Auraia Sesto and SnorLoska got themselves into position near the Teleportation Circle. Everyone was keen to go, but unsure as to if they would be needed, so they lingered outside the circle, which would immediately send them to Imani's basecamp on the nearby mountain. Sesto's Angels stood in a line between him and the dragon, swords held to their foreheads. Aquaria and Auraia also got into position, ready to execute a quick plan involving teleportation. It was only Mord, who lingered near the staff. Just @gargoyleking to chime in. Is Mord going to jump back down and head for the circle or go for the staff himself, or what? He is, after all, right in front of it.

Great. I’d like to see if the crystal staff answers him, but he’ll likely be trying that as well. It will. I just want to roll the round over first. Lots has happened with Terrus this round. I'm just gonna get some other stuff done first. Speaking of which. I don't think Aquaria has done anything this round yet. I just gotta clear up a few things so I can roll the round over: @gargoyleking - At the time Torbin and Mord move into the Vault, they can only see the same niche that SnorLoska is running for. The other niche can only be seen from the other side of the rift. There are two ways around the rift: The left, which you'd have to try to jump over right in front of a Dracolich simulacrum who will probably kill you. OR the right, slipping past the far side. Unfortunately, this puts you furthest away from the niche that no one has seen yet. (Udit and SnorLoska will both spot it as soon as they are not focused on the other niche). If it's okay with you, I'm going to assume that they both go the long way around together, even though you suggested they split up. As soon as they get to the far side of the rift, they can split up like you posted, having spotted both niches by then. Okay? One other thing: If they dash, they can go all the way around, but one, the other, or both of them will be adjacent to the StoneFace at the top right. (unless they want to hold back a bit). ...

OOC: Are the niche the red "dots" we see on the map? Yes, Though I don't think anyone can actually see the one on the left. That big grey square thing is a 20-foot high stage-like platform. But we can assume that most player's passive perception can spot the one directly across as long as you are in line-of-sight of it. While I'm here, I think I will bug @tglassy, @eayres33, @gargoyleking, @Fradak, and maybe hold out a little hope for @River Song to take a turn so we can get this thing done. This is reminding me of the 'good ol' days' of D&D when I had quite a few long campaigns that came to their last session... and no one could ever make it.

So, I've been getting the final battle(s) maps ready, and I'm wondering... do we even have everyone? I mean, I've heard from Ancalagon, Prickly Pear, EarlyBird, gargoyleking and tglassy, but it's been awhile since Fradak and @eares33 have posted, and River Song appears to be gone. If we're missing more than just Kurzon, I might just narrate that group for the story's sake and remove some aspect of the fight. Is everyone leveled up and ready to go?

This sounds interesting. And as a small side note might be something that could link to Enseth's mission. In the meantime, I'm just happy to keep this game going. There's a lot of interest in the mix so far. I thought of that, considering his obsession with the Thay. I love how he goes “I could explain why I think this, but it would take to long, so ‘Cause Reasons’.”
  • 03:17 AM - FitzTheRuke quoted gargoyleking in post (IC) Scourge of Daggerford
Dandin enlisted one of their guides... That would be Ulaqui. For whatever reason, she really likes Hanar and laughs at all of Dandin's jokes. They get along. I wouldn't say there's anything romantic going on, but I think they hit it off. Hanar was easily found, unharmed, very near to the spot where Dandin had left him. Oyfanen took the seeds. She planted only one, and the rest disappeared somewhere on her leafy person, but even before the group left her glade, Dandin saw a sproutling apple tree growing where she had placed the seed, not far from her Oak tree.

I won't be surprised or upset though if you do fill it out somewhat. Not sure if your up on Mythos lore, but it'd be cool if there was some link to it. I've played enough CoC to RP it, I'm sure. I know enough of it. I prefer far-realm D&D stuff to be inspired by Lovecraft, but not be directly copied from it. Sure. I'll give it some thought.
  • 02:55 AM - FitzTheRuke quoted gargoyleking in post (OOC) Rise of the Dracolich (Full)
Right, and I see Mord as having come into contact with a Lovecraftian Great Old One. Talking with tglassy about his patron for Scourge of Daggeford, I've been giving more thought to patrons in general. I probably won't go as far as to create full characters for them here, but I will give them some thought. Mord's is likely at least somewhat Unknowable.
  • 02:52 AM - FitzTheRuke quoted gargoyleking in post (OOC) Scourge of Daggerford (Full)
Thoughts? Well, he's now had a run-in with an ancient mystical Elk and with a Dryad (and any animals that come to her glade, which are actually a lot, but I glossed-over that. Feel free to have him wake up cuddling with a raccoon or something.)

Stay out of the darkness? I generally do a good job of calling out my intentions beforehand or making certain spells sound insidious. Hunger of Hadar is one of those in particular. Hunger of Hadar is awesome. The damage is not great compared to fireball, but when you consider the area denial potential, it's phenomenal. But it's not a well known spell I think so it's good that Mord is warning us. I thought about taking it, but since my PC's magic is fay-ish in origin, I went with hypnotic pattern instead.
  • 02:17 PM - Ancalagon quoted gargoyleking in post (OOC) Rise of the Dracolich (Full)
Mord has a variety of spells that are creepy as hell but have proven to be rather effective. Also, he can counterspell but has only 2 slots to cast per short rest.Yeah, Kalorn has that limitation too... but is there something that we need to know about in advance? Like "don't rush in because I will do X", or "the purple giant is our friend?"

Of course, that is assuming that the roll would be to spot the act of palming the ring rather than what Is was suggesting which is simply noticing that it is now missing. Harb should be able to do that much in the process of seeing to Artus's wounds and paralysis. Oh yes, that's true. I was thinking more along the lines of if you notice right away. With time factored in, everyone will notice. If we want to see who notices FIRST, it'll be a roll-off. Your 14 will stand. Let's see if you notice before Artus Cimber does: [roll0] (I'd give him advantage due to it being HIS finger, but I'm gonna balance it out with disadvantage for being busy worrying about his legs. I think the ring itself is happy to go, so it's not gonna warn him - yes, it understands what is happening.) Edit: There you go. Go ahead and post helping him out a bit and noticing.

Oh was Sesto there for any of that? Then it's something he'd be aware of, even if he doesn't approve. Hey, I don't approve of all of my friends choices IRL. I think I could put up with even more if it were a matter of saving lives.

I am hoping to accumulate some better gear for them in the future. Shields and swords maybe. Not sure if there would be any penalty to them using martial weapons, but basic skeletons have a higher dex than strength, hoping to get them a finesse weapon beyond a dagger. Shortswords should work well with dex.

Okay, so I'm an arse! Harb has been using a quarter staff this whole time and it isn't a finesse weapon. Technically he should only have a +2 to hit and have no bonus to attack with one... oye... But isn't it also a monk weapon? Although that may modify the damage...

Awesome! That gives me a bit of money left for incidentals.Well that was a grand entrance! How good are the disguises? Ie would adventurers in close vicinity see through them?

Okay, 50GP to play with... 3 suits of hide armor; 30GP, sets of travellers clothing; 6GP, 3 daggers and 3 slingsw/ammo;6GP 6SP. How much for 3 masks to finish the look? I'm looking forward to seeing what you are up to with all of this! :D (and remember my offer - I can PM you some level 8 warlock stuff if you need) I'm also looking forward to Kalorn meeting the party. I'm not quite sure who's showing up when and it seems unlikely that we will show up all at the exact same time, given the, ah wide variety of travel mode so far (planar travel, flying board, on foot and mule cart). However, if one of you wants to run into Kalorn, feel free :)

I'm Dandin Applesbane, and we're The Doughty Daggerfordians. Titus sheaths his sword, woozy from his injury. “Good gods, are we really calling ourselves that?” He mutters under his breath. He finds a tree stump and pulls a strip of cloth from his pack and begins trying to stop the bleeding. He’s been a “Doughty Daggerfordian” for a very short time, but has managed to gather an impressive number of wounds and scars. And now he’d have a limp. Wonderful.
