That is very strange, at that exchange rate you would effectively double your divine abilities for one artifact With the case of the wizard what reason would i want to keep an artifact that gives a q80 to int but rather gain an additional 13 divine abilities? And i can do that four times. 16 from template + (134) 16 to 68 seems like a massive jump Well thats the math, but by the way I would never use an artifact that just gives a bonus to intelligence as you suggest, in fact most of the artifacts I use give divine abilities or their equilavant to their user.

Hey Upper Krust Hey there Akira! :) I love your books you released for 3.5 they gave my groups plenty of fun material to work with I appreciate the kind words. Sorry i do not play 4.0 That's okay amigo, I don't want anyone buying books they won't use just to support me. I feel there is a bit to be desired for epic enhancements/artifacts and magic etc for god tier game play (grimoire) Certainly 3E Epic could use all the material it can get. I sat down and brainstormed some ideas over the past few days and I might do an Epic Bestiary 2 with a version for 3.5E and a version for 4E. Essentially these would be the same book the only difference would be the stat-block page(s). So each monster would need to be two (or more) pages: Page 1 = Description, Write-up, Adventure Ideas, (General) Tactics & Art Page 2 = Stat-block and powers (either for 3.5E OR 4E) Obviously some entries may need to have an extra page for the art or require 2 Pages for the Stat-Blocks etc. Q: ...

After doing a little math i feel stacking metamagic gets out of hand after a while Going by what you stated a while back for having two empowers equal x2 for a +4 levels A deity with 200 HD would not be able to survive a spell casted by another deity with 200hd Quick math, level 10 fireball + 44 empowers(22 doubles) = level 98 spell (20 x (2 ^ 22)) = 41 million d6 = 146 million(average 3.5) I feel i am doing math very wrong or it is simply broken. a deity with 200 hd would have approximately 200k hp even if all dice rolled were ones it would still not survive Yes you are doing the math wrong (if I remember correctly). Two empowers would equal x2, four = x3, six = x4, eight = x5. You seem to be multiplying them by each other: 2, 4, 8, 16 etc when its more like 2, 3, 4, 5, etc. Empowers do not multiply each other. They simply stack, THEN you apply the multiplier.

Howdy Akira, Question: with the attempt of figuring out a better way to approach epic magic i have been sifting through this thread and have basically found two things: use empower spell for more damage and heighten spellfor higher DCs , for they are a balanced way to approach spellcasting at higher levels. Those would seem to be the quickest and easiest way currently. Years ago I was working on something (for 4E) provisionally called 'Spell Templates' and basically these would have been a list of scale modifiers and mitigating factors. ...quick rough example... You would have had the "Town Template" affecting everything in a square mile (lets say that would have required +40 spell levels; so if added to fireball that's a Level 43 spell...and just to be clear I am pulling that +40 out of thin air, I can't remember any of the figures I worked out) Then you would have had a list of mitigating factors for offsetting the requirements all based on the dimensions: Time (casting time, favoured time)...
