Wow! That seems like a fair amount to do... Wish I could help but I don't have the technical skills. :(

Yep - found them when I was playing around in Roll20 yesterday B-)... What editing needs to be done (not a techie here!)?

My upcoming campaign sits between NOW and NEW and, as I have a PC that has Psionics, I'm using the NEW character sheet. Brian, is this character sheet v1.2 compatible? How can I find it?

Steve Cansdale started a thread WOIN and Roll20
I've looked on Roll20 and cannot find anything for WOIN. Is anyone using Roll20 for WOIN?? I use Roll20 all the time for my 5E campaigns and I'd like to use it for WOIN given the tactical / map-based combat approach. Is there a v1.2 compatible character sheet anywhere out there (I can't find one)?

In NOW, there's a table that gives some descriptions of what STR, AGI, LOG, and REP represent at each dice level - example, 2d6 is "average". Is there a table out there somewhere that has all the attributes so described?

I do like the +2d6 == +1 houserule and I think I'll pick that up for my game - thanks!

Steve Cansdale started a thread Max dice pools
I understand that the mechanism for defining a maximum dice pool is based on the Grade is Attribute + Skill + Equipment (and that there are some factors that can add/subtract dice but these are not included in the Grade cap). Q1. For skill checks, I assume any excess dice (Attribute + Skill) over the maximum for the Grade are just lost? Q2. Does this limitation apply to Combat? If so, what...

Yep - I get the logic on the first three but I think I will house-rule that Disarm is vs Ranged/Melee Defense (unless, of course, the weapon is a natural one :p). Thanks again!

Hmmm... okay, I can see that for Move, Knock-Down, or Disable, but Disarm? However, the logic makes sense - thanks for the prompt response!

Hi Just re-re-reading the combat rules ready for our next playtest session and I got to Called Shots and I got confused a bit... I understand the 2d6 penalty to hit but can you explain why, given I'm making a ranged attack, that I make it against VITAL and not RANGED Defense? I understood that VITAL comes into play when you're saving against systemic attacks - like poisons - so I'm puzzled...

Yep - got those included in my Excel worksheet... So I guess this is also the case for: Foresight (M&RD), Meditiation - Bravery - Discipline - Conviction (MentalD), Fortitude - Resistance (VitalD), and Hardy (Health). In other words (and a little broad-brush, I know), these are "skills" that drive Derived Stats rather than game play?

Okay, I understand (and like) that, but some of the "keywords" are a little... slippery / fluffy. I get engineering, electronics, robotics as these are clear and understandable, but (per my post), Reactions and Resistance are not. I don't want to make this too rigid - as this is one of the system's strengths IMHO - but some of these skills need a little write-up / description / example of play...

Is there a glossary of skills out there? I mean, what is meant (or covered) by the skills as listed in the book. Example: What does Engineering cover? I've seen it mentioned as: Disabling a trap; Repairing a musket; Fixing a car; Modifying a device; Repairing an engine; Electrical Engineering; and Mechanical Engineering... and probably even Civil Engineering! I guess it's fairly self-evident...

Thanks for the fast response... Hadn't got that far - thought I'd be using pre-built NPCs initially! ;-) Yes, I had mentioned that combat is very tactical and requires a good amount of thought. No just blasting away here! Oh, and the way my lot roll dice, he could be RD3 and they'd still miss him!

So I got my group together Friday evening to run through the short intro adventure at the back of the NOW book using four of the Alpha Team pregens... Things were going well - though I need to do a cheat sheet for the Combat process! - until they started to engage the Heavy Gunner in the first combat encounter... Please tell me that it's a typo that he has Hardy 36 (8d6)?? Max of 90hp!! If it...

Hi I am about to start running my group through a campaign in a setting that sits between NOW and NEW - i.e. the near future. However, though we are all experienced RPGers, neither they or I have ever played WOIN before. So, two questions: 1) Is there a "quick start" game out there for NOW to help teach us the game system? 2) Are there any pre-written (or, if anyone has something they...

  • 04:02 AM - Brian I quoted Steve Cansdale in post WOIN and Roll20
My upcoming campaign sits between NOW and NEW and, as I have a PC that has Psionics, I'm using the NEW character sheet. Brian, is this character sheet v1.2 compatible? How can I find it? Great question. It looks like it is v1.2 compatible. I'm the GM but not the game creator (for my Roll20 campaign), so can't tell where / how we accessed the sheets. knikpiw may know, if I can figure out how to ping him.

Hey Morrus, what's in the pipeline for NOW?? Just curious! We released a couple of NOW supplements recently. Dark Decade From Dust to Dawn http://www.woinrpg.com/dark-decade-from-dust-to-dawn Spirits of Manhattan (just released) http://www.woinrpg.com/spirits-of-manhattan And later this year is The Possessed. Think Exorcist.
