The players left the mines with Nicolas and decided to take the road to the fortress. They convinced the miner to lend the golden icon of nem to Uzziel, so he could act as lookout. They stumbled upon the abandoned wagon and Gwen picked up one of the weapons, triggering the trap. Everyone was dealt some serious damage and Nicolas, in his panic, fired his pistol. Knowing the blue glow of the magic...

I’ll spare you the details of the second attempt since it was pretty much the same except with Jasbeer and Gwen joining the battle sooner, Uzziel not being surprised, Juza not falling to Ilton (since Jasbeer was with her to protect her) and with Beldrum present. They did pretty well! Uzziel fixed the alarm so Geoff and a few engineers joined the battle halfway through. Beldrum stopped the fire...

So, on to the adventure. I’ll gloss over anything that doesn’t deviate from the script, since I figure anyone who reads this has probably read the adventures already. I’ll focus mostly on the ways the players overcome obstacles and roleplay, with a bit of mechanics on the side to give readers an idea of the resources at the group’s disposal. The opening skill challenge went well and the hard...

My group and I have finished the first adventure. It took us around two months and I have been busy writing the recap, trying to make it succinct and failing spectacularly. I'll try to post more frequently from now on. Before that, though, I’ll devote a few paragraphs to their characters and their backstories. Some things may change or be added in as the players explore their characters through...

I haven't even finished reading Shelter from the Storm, but I'm always happy to support this great conversion to a fantastic adventure path. Keep up the good work, and thank you. I am glad you are enjoying it. The Mad King's Banquet is even longer, so you have a lot of reading ahead of you! The Monastery of Two Winds is closer to the length of the first two adventures, but there are a lot of fun things in there such as some enemies with surprising abilities. I also really like the landscape by Claudio Pozas that went on the cover.

  • 12:09 PM - Tormyr quoted tragicThaumaturge in post Hardcovers finally arrived
I am (or rather will be) running Zeitgeist for two groups. One of them is the group I've been playing with since high school and we'll be using the 4e version (most of them prefer that one). The other group is new (although they're still friends from my high school) and they asked to play the 5e conversion. This last group doesn't have as much time to game as the former, so even though the 5e version is not finished I don't think we'll run out of material (plus, I can just convert it myself in a pinch). Wow, were you also running the WotBS in 5e?

  • 10:44 AM - Tormyr quoted tragicThaumaturge in post [WotBS] 5ed. still a thing?
I am so so so incredibly relieved to hear that! I've spent the last two months checking the website every other day to see if there had been an update and was starting to get worried no more would be released. The AP is fantastic and I am incredibly grateful to everyone involved in both the original project and now the adaptation. Also I apologize if I come on a bit strong, I don't know how to properly say how much in love I am with WotBS (and Zeitgeist!). And I wish I could have gotten the last couple chapters out a bit faster, but when adventure 1 was 48 pages and adventure 4 is 85 pages, the release rate slows down a little. Adventure 5 looks like it will be a bit smaller, so it should hopefully be out a bit more quickly. :)
