AHHH! I'M DM'ING MY FIRST GAME TOMORROW! [/caps]

First Post
I'm out of town visiting friends, and they want to play D&D 3.5 tomorrow night. I will be DMing for the first time ever. Now, I don't have any trouble coming up with a story or maps, but I don't have any materials except for a 3.5 Player's Handbook (we are only play with PH I, yay) for making monsters.

Are there standard templates or a program that can randomly generate enemies (level 3-7) for me? Or can anyone suggest stats, feats, spells for monsters? I don't want/need anything overly complicated (ie, a :):):):) ton of spells to use - having just one to three will suit me for these fights, as the players are still new to the game and I don't want to get caught up in all the rules).

The three players are playing a level 5 sorcerer, druid, and, I think, a fighter. We are starting at a masquerade in Waterdeep where a prostitution ring leader crashes in, looking for revenge after the sorcerer (a former prostitute) escaped servitude with a good acid splash to the face. So, anything you think would be appropriate (I'm thinking a 10' troll would make a nice boss) would be great help!

The rules will strictly follow 3.5 but plot, monsters, dungeons, etc. will be pretty homebrew (minus, you know, being set in Waterdeep).

Any advice you can offer for a new DM would also be greatly appreciated!

Kinda good thing you've popped in here actually.

Paizo, being the cool guys they are - offer both their bestiary's preview (two, actually) and a bonus one for free as OGL on their site.

But note that Pathfinder monsters are stronger than those for 3.5! So add one point of CR (challenge rating) to those monsters to account for that (if a monster in here has CR of 3 - it's 4 for 3.5 characters).

An idea

Try here

Off the top of my head how about your sorceror is pursued by cloaked foes which turn out to be a pack of Tengu rogues with a Tiefling leader and have the former owner be behind the attempted abduction however they kidnap the wrong girl.

Have her be important to one of the other PCs or someone who employs them to rescue her except when they do go after them they first are ambushed by another group only to find someone else has abducted her forcing them to enter the sewers to find her except a Mohrg has slain the kidnappers and their former hostage is hiding and they have to find her and escape the sewers before it finds them.

Maybe throw in that the sewer trip uncovers another way out including possible treasure as well as a map to a cache which draws the attention of a rival rogue who employed the tengu on behalf of the sorceror's nemesis maybe even an enchanted sword, protective amulet and a spellbook or even a wand to help them fight off the Mohrg at least enough to flee the sewers.

Probably too late by the time I read this thread though!
