[Pathfinder] Vampires Of Waterdeep

[Reveille]

Uktar 30, 1373

It’s a rainy night in Waterdeep. The Onyx Dream is jam packed with customers, a wealthy noble having invited a bunch of friends and associates to celebrate his birthday. The coins are steadily coming and your servers and cooks being kept fairly busy with all the hubbub.

A fierce wind forces open the second story windows and the moon brightly shines into the tavern. Looking out you can see that it’s a full moon. Several servers clamor to get the windows shut and after 10 minutes all the windows are closed and barred to keep the incident from happening again.

Over all the commotion a loud bang can be heard in the cellar. You know all the sounds of the tavern and the bang doesn’t seem to be like that of the workers or like something that’s supposed to be normal. The three of you race down to the cellar. You notice a male human that very badly injured has come in through the underdark passageway and the doorway to the underdark blown off its hinges and pieces of its wood splintered all over the cellar.

Rangta's light steps make next to no noise on the sturdy stone steps into the cellar, but as he steps onto the floor amidst the barrels of grog and salted fish his body becomes encased in his polished black full plate. He slings the tower shield thats appeared in his hand over his shoulder as he crouches next to the injured man. "Oh ...take care, you're badly injured. Who has done this to you boy." The strong scent of fresh blood is intoxicatingly sweet, but he holds back his urge while determining who or what has dmaged his establishment. He casts a trained eye around the underground chamber for signs of something that could have thown the man through their cellar door. Perception=25 "Something may have come down here with this...poor lad, keep an eye out."

Vandaros moved into position behind Rangta. With a mere thought a dagger appears in his hand as he scanned the area behind the bust door perception=20

Drawing on the shadow weave Vandaros will then cast detect magic, positioning himself so that he catches both the injured human and the area past the door in his vision.

[Pyrex]

Coming down the stairs a moment behind his comrades, Nathan takes in the destroyed door then gives the human a good looking over[1]. Figuring if he's still standing on both feet that he can't be hurt that badly, he decides on the rather direct approach.

"Good sir, would you mind explaining just why you've broken into our basement? I understand the watch looks poorly on theives."

[1] Would you give a more complete description of the human? How's he dressed? Armed/armored? Wearing a pointy hat that says 'Wizzard'?

[Reveille]

Upon closer inspection the three of you notice that young man (which is lying on his gut close to the hole) is wearing a long red robe with a blue stripe down the front of it. He is wearing a battered leather pack soaked in blood.

The mean reaches out with his right hand, a scroll clutched in it, which is nothing but bone. "They're coming. Lots of them. From under Anauroch. The Neth..." is all he manages to say before dying.

After looking at the scroll, which is now devoid of writing, you gather that the man was a spellcaster and he purposefully did in your 'victim hatch' to escape from whatever was after him.

You hear what might be faint echoing voices coming from the hole leading into the underdark.

[Phaezen]

Vandaros kneels by the corpse and examines man, scanning the satchel for magic before opening it search=18. Turning to Nathan and Rangta he asks "Could either of you examine his wounds to determine what atacked him?"

Can I make a knowledge Arcana check to see if I recognise the mans robes? Knowledge Arcana = 13

Rangta's head snaps around toward the now open pit in the floor in a whirl of shiny black hair. In a low voice he quickly adresses his business associates. "Someone is close by, down the whole. Drag that out of the way quickly." He indicates the body now quietly oozing on the floor. "Be ready." And as the whispered words trail from his lips, the roguely cleric vanishes without a trace , as he squats by the opening with Prond’Fal Suuk in hand and redraws his shield. Stealth=72

Focusing his will, Nathan conjures a barely visible bubble of force around himself before moving the injured man away from the door.
