Real people, but not as history knows them

Adolf Hitler:

hitler2.jpg

As in our world, Hitler is a charismatic leader of Germany, who brought prosperity to his country. The Hitler in this world, however, was influenced differently by his background and by the modern theory of genetic enhancement of hybrids. This Hitler belives there's a superior state of humanity that can be reached, but he believes that no one in the present is more or less perfect than others. In fact, he belives that in the mixture of the genes of different populations the superiority can be reached, similarily as in the hybridization of crops and vegetables to get superior products. His conections with Lenin and the russian scientists have making him believe that his dreams are scientifically possible.
A liberal as he is, he'll try to create a superhuman before the communists can, but first he has to make up with the rule of his country. At the present he is the chancellor of the German government.

Francisco Franco:

In his beginigs, Francisco was a lousy militar, never standing up from the rest. As he grew up, and became commander of the Spanish African regiment, the communists ideas of revolution began to slowly make up in his mind.
In 1926, part of the army mutinied against the goverment. Franco supported the revolt initially, but when the militars decided to stay in the power indefinitedly, he arose against them. Spain was divided in two sides, the revels of Franco, and the militar arm of the fascist general Zoandoman.

Vladimir Illich Ulianov (Lenin for his friends):

lenin-p13a.jpg

Lenin's life was in this world, like in ours. Recently, he resisted an attempt of takeover from Stalin. However, he didn't kill him for his treason, and instead forgive him. Lenin has given a great deal of importance to the scientific development of his country, and has supplied countless founds to his scientists. From this effort, he was able to play important cards in the game of politics. One of his lead scientists is believed to have discovered a way to manipulate emotions and thoughts, others are mending with genetics and many with electronical devices and mechanical humanoids. Lenin keeps open dialoges with the leader of Chinese revolutionaries, Franco, and the president of USA, Curtis.

Grigori Raspútin

rasputin-716378.jpg

Grigori Raspútin never died that night of 1916, not by the cyanide in the food, nor by the shots in the chest, neither by the beating and surely not when he was thrown into the Neva River. He appeared two years later, after the communists had taken over Russia and assasinated the Romanov. Apparently he was in some state of suspended animation or stasis after the attempts to kill him. He awoke on a distant shore of Siberia, his homeland, and walked kilometers to get his vengeance. Prince Félix Yussupov and several other aristocrats were found dead on their beds, with horrific and unnatural faces, fixed by rigor mortis. Strangely, the autopsies revealed no apparent cause of dead; the aristocrats that had attempted to kill Raspútin, just died.
Raspútin now lives with his daughters and wife in a small house outside Snt Petersburg, and his current activities remain a mystery.

Charles Curtis

Charles_Curtis.jpg

Descending from Native-Americans Indians, Curtis had always a slight socialistic policy, and upon the death of president Hoover in 1929, he became president of USA. His policies have opened trade routs with many countries, specially the arch enemy of Hoover, the communist Russia and China, and other communists nations. He has, since ascended to power, played his cards well enough. Although many suspects he is a puppet of the Russians, the government has enough power to eliminate any kind of mischievous rumor.

This is the list of important NPC worldwide renown.

Dr. Andrei Kirdovf:
A renown scientist from Russia, famous for his experiments in neuronal induction. He invented the therm Psycoinduction, to describe the phenomena of inducing thoughts and emotions in other persons by the means of high tech equipment. It's said that Lenin supports the laboratory and the expenses of the good doctor, although he has not announce any allegiance with the communist party.

Mr Frank Pullman:
Pullman is perhaps the most insightful man in the world. He is a reporter from one of the greatest news companies in the world. Pullman appears in the precise moment a meaningful even is about to happen, even if it's in China, Chile, Spain or Canada. He seems to be always one step forward. His services are expensive, and his private life has been kept a secret.

Dr Edgardo Martinez:
Dr Martinez is Spanish chemistry engineer that works for the liberation of spain from the cruel dictator, General Zoandoman. His efforts keeps the resistance alive, suppling them with strange, although effective weapons. He is known to be an academic personality before Zoandoman's state strike, and ever since his family was massacred by the dictator, Dr Martinez has moved to somewhere in the Spanish coast, from where he delivers his weapons to the revolutionaries. His location is unknown.

Mrs Marie Pearson:
Most believe Pearson to be an eccentric, but no one can doubt of her capacity. She rose an empire of finances from the ground, and is among the richest persons in the world. Her business is selling the famous French fragrances and fashion articles worldwide, but her real business doesn't smell so good. She deals with the illegal commerce of various types of drugs in all Europe, although all of them are for her private use and for her group of special researchers. Marie has a secret taste for the occult and esoteric.

Gino Raggatini: Former Italian secret service agent, now is one of Al Capone’s champions. Gino has gained some reputation because of his unusual way to interrogate people. Gino’s cruelty is not the only thing that has created the fearsome reputation he has. He is one of the best gunslingers at the service of "La Cosa Nostra".

Sir Archival Long: Long is a British business man, whose prestige and fortune are beyond the scopes of many countries. Sir Long is known not only for his industries all around the world, he also has many problems with local authorities for abuse of personal, and violation of human rights. Archival is an elder gentleman, who purses only one thing: Power, and will do anything to attain it.
A former member of many secret societies, Long decided that his person was in risk being a public persona, so he decided to recluse himself. No one knows where he is, although me maintains communications and gives directives to his servants and employees. Long uses some sort of advanced communication device, although details are unknown.

General Rolff Strauggen: Commander of the German’s Special Forces squadron, Rolff Strauggen is a stern man, with a calculator mind. Rolff has performed several special missions and he has succeeded in everyone, so he is quite a renowned character. Recently, he has pledged loyalty to Adolf Hittler and his growing party, although he has not declared openly that he is Nazi.

Okay, I am just really confused. None of these people are like their real world counterparts. Rather they are much the opposite in political views and dogma (with the exception of maybe Lenin). Is that the idea?

I thought part of the reason for using real-world figures was that we'd have a general idea what they are like. But after reading their descriptions I'm not sure what to think.

I'm thinking its that "crucial decision timeline divergence" kind of thing- a critical piece of info gets interpreted one way instead of another by the person in question, and things can change radically. One bit of info, one decision, one break, one happenstance has a different outcome, and there is an outward ripple of change.

For instance, Harry Turtledove- a historian and master of alt-history fiction- took the idea that at one point, George Washington (instead of continuing the war) accepted an overture by King George, resulting in a North American Colony (consisting of modern day Canada and the USA) loyal to Britain.

Voda Vosa is just positing a world in which many divergences from RW history have occurred contemporaneously.

Yes, Dannyalcatraz has the right point there. Although there are another set of "hidden reasons" for said changes, at least for the most radical. You must also take in consideration the faction events in the world, like the assassination of Hoover, that leaved Curtis with the president charge, shifting the country's policy with scialistic goverments. Of course there's a reason for his shift of political ideas, but that'll just spoil the plot, heh. Rasputin for example, was not altered, if for the fact that he was not killed.

Striking New!

Striking News of the 5th of February

Germany shaken by a wave of death!

The world and the Germans look terrified to the shameful incidents in Germany, where several military squadrons have been mobilized to apprehend retired soldiers from the WWI. All attempts of capture have failed, resulting in several deaths, even of the entire families of the soldiers. Several countries have cataloged these events as terrible and regretful, and have sent word to the German embassies, in an attempt to persuade German authorities to stop these squadrons of horror.
