Do you think WoTC should be sued?

Let's say a veteran D&D user (who played/DM'd OD&D, AD&D 1st & 2nd, 3e, and 3.5) filed a lawsuit against WoTC for what they have been doing with 4e and other stuff lately. Do you think that would be justified or frivolous? I'm rather mixed on that because it may make Wizards realize what they've been doing to those who been passionate about the game and at the same time feel it may be going a bit overboard. What do you guys think?

I can't see ANY grounds a consumer could sue on, and doubt you could find a litigator to take such a case.

You MIGHT be able to sue them as a shareholder, but again, its highly improbable that you'd find an attorney since I really don't see any grounds for a shareholder suit.

Yeah, and as a long-suffering Philadelphia Eagles fan, I'll just start suing the team over every personnel decision they make that doesn't bring them closer to winning a Super Bowl.

For [insert your deity of choice]'s sake, man. Please, please, please tell me this was a just a weak attempt to troll ENWorld. Please.

Oh I think you could definitely find an attorney to take on the case...for cash, up-front.

Even as a shareholder, making a case of mismanagement against Hasbro would pretty much be impossible, considering that they're only about 6 points down from their 52-week high.

The suit would be completely frivolous.

A company is not obligated to make products that its current customers will enjoy. A company is obligated to make a profit so as to continue operating. In a perfect world, the desires of the current customers overlap very well with the direction the company things will make a profit. In the real world, when you are talking about a game, which is a field where tastes in entertainment can (and often do) change dramatically from one generation to the next, this overlap happens a lot less than many people (both customers and company employees) would like.

I agree with Danny, there seems little to sue for.... you also couldn't sue Microsoft for releasing Windows Vista even though you really, really liked XP. I'm not familiar with the US legal system but even as litigious as the courts can be there and as silly as some lawsuits are (OMG this coffee is hot? Really? It burned me, now I sue you and win... WTF? - Liebeck v. McDonald's Restaurants - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) even they couldn't take something like this on without any merit whatsoever. At least the old woman got burned. Maybe if you can show that 4e gave you third degree burns from playing it or something?
