Rediscovery of the World - 4e (OOC)

I would be interested to join that game. Here teh concept I want to try.

The young elf have always been facscinated by the old tales of the forgotten civilization that have once dwell on this continent. Many story had contradiction about that old empire, and maybe it is what he raise his curiosity.

He was trained at a temple of Melora, but the way of teh ancient and ultimate commune with nature wasn't in line with the young elf dreams. One day, he decided to travel and found a human city. Not knowing where to go, he seeked shelter in a temple, one dedicated to Erathis. When he start to spoke with the cleric of the temple, he understood it wasn't a coincidence if he had end here. He spend a whole year studying under his mentor, but his idea to find back the foundation of that old civilzation are still lurking in the young elf heart, and he knows it is not by staying there he will satsify his need.

So it would be an elven cleric of Erathis. Knowledgeable and wise, he would rely more on wisdom powers and a bow.

Background:
-What does the character look like?
Desh has black scales which fade to a dark slightly translucent red at the tips. His eyes are orbs of molten gold and his hair-spines are fairly long, reaching his mid-back.
-What's his story? Where does he come from?
The dark dragonborn before you is a paladin in service to [Avandra]. He served with distinction for the last 6 years in the famed Pardan 4th Legion... until about 3 months ago when he was dishonorably discharged. Strangely enough he was also awarded a very large sum of money from the Pardasan treasury. The reason for his discharge was classified and Desh never speaks of it; rumors say that he himself does not remember due to a magic potion he was force to drink or that he was somehow forced to take a magical oath on the matter. In any event, Desh accepted the money and bought a stake in a halfling shipping company that seems to have dried up as he hasn't heard from his partner, Lira, in quite a while.
His mother and sister's cast him from the family and he made he made it all the way to Blenir before his funds ran out. He was without anywhere to go and with no purpose to drive him when the invitation found him. Desh now, enthusiastically, makes his way to Nesiah. Humans are relatively new to him and he's been enjoying the sight-seeing so far.

-What's his personality?
Desh is a simple guy who views the world in shades of gray. He can find a redeeming quality in just about anyone or anything. He believes in the spirit of the law but rarely its letter. He's enthusiastic, young and has never faced true tragedy nor real loss (he hasn't REALLY begun to miss his family yet, but the holidays loom ever closer).
-Why is he an adventurer?
Desh has nothing else to do so he imagines himself a knight-errant in service to [Avandra]. He dislikes mercenary work as you tend to be the "bad guy" more often than not.
-Any hooks or plot devices you'd like to include will be considered
Why was Desh dishonorably discharged? What secret could be powerful enough that he very own family would disown him.
What prevents Desh from disclosing what actually happened?
What was the 4th Legion doing that earned it, and Desh, notoriety?
What is Lira up to? Was she a charlatan or did her shipping company actually make something of itself?

Do yo allow the illusion wizard powers from the insider?

If not, I present sledge:

Sledge, a big waforged, clad in heavy component armor, using a warhammer and a shield.

Build to help an evil tyrant to oppress a small village, the near death of a little human girl reached his conscience and forced him to rebel. Freeing the adventurer group from prison, he first helped them to overthrow his former master and later joined them, fighting for freedom and good.

I'll stat up a character tomorrow after getting off work. I do have the following idea though:

Grungni Goldtooth, Unaligned Female Dwarven Cleric of Tiamat. Grungni has become an adventurer to earn gold, platinum, silver and various gems and jewelry... And well, generally any other valuable. She grew up in poverty in a small human settlement, as her parents was exiled from the Dwarven lands due to some politics. After an accident crippled her mother, her father became an adventurer, desperate to earn enough gold to sustain his family. However that adventure came to an abrupt halt after encountering some powerful demon. This left Grungni to sustain both herself and her mother in a community that was not really supposed to be her own.
In her desperation she turned to various gods and prayed for their aid in preventing her premature death due to starvation. But Moradin and Pelor were both quiet and the same was the other deities considered to be good and righteous. However one of the deities answered her prayers and it was with Tiamat's blessing that Grungni survived. Since then Grungni has been a loyal follower of this deity, though she's not concerned about the vengeance aspect of her deity. She embraces the concepts of wealth and greed though.

-What's his story?
Born in a small village, he remebers most of his life as citizen in the arcane district of Nesiah, selling his particulary talent to the highest bidder, before he started to work as an adventurer out of the city (nothing much to explore in there.)

-Where does he come from?
Jorje was born and raised in the small village Applewood.
But after manifesting his talet for arcane magic, his parents sent him to Nesiah to study at the shadowdream academy, that specializes in illusion and ... darker magic, in the arcane district. He later left the city for more lucerative jobs out there.

-What's his personality?
A bit dark and calculating, he isn't evil per se, but hasn't yet expirienced the true values of sacrifice and friendship, but is up to learn tem...

-Why is he an adventurer?
Profit and exitement. The magic items and rituals adventurers typically find on their explorations would cost him a fortune on the free market.

His past time mentor, that says he is always acting on self interest and won't never change the world has nothing to do with this...[/sblock]

Background:

Five years ago, the road wardens found a warforged buried some distance from the main road through western Barnost, next to an old oak tree. With only its hand above ground, the warforged took some work to dig up, and the wardens doubted it could be made functional again. Still, they took it back to their headquarters, where their chaplain examined him. Despite its rough condition, a few prayers to Avandra and the light returned to the warforged's eyes. Unfortunately, the warforged had no recollection of its past or how it had ended up in the state it was found in.

Deciding to aid those who rescued it, and with no other real options, the warforged trained and joined the wardens in their task. Taking up the name Oak after the tree by which it was found, the warforged served as a warden for several years, and learned much about guarding the frontier, proud of serving alongside those who rescued it.

Eventually, though, Oak's curiosity grew, and it sought to learn more about its past. Deciding to leave the wardens to find out where it - and perhaps all warforged - had came from, Oak is now headed towards Nesiah...

Appearance: Very, very well worn, with hints of rust in places. Dull metal plates. Not at all shiny.

Potential hooks: How did Oak end up in the state it was found in? How long was Oak buried? Who was Oak before being deactivated - a hero, a villain, a soldier, a thug, a nobody? Is there anyone out there looking for Oak?[/sblock]

I will have a write up by the end of tonight. However, I wanted to at least put down my interest in the game and an extreme overview of the character.

"Blizzard the lizard wizard"

Venerable Dragonborn Male who has lived life as a traveling storyteller and sometimes magician. He excels at spells of the frost type and his coloring have all given him the nick-name Blizzard. He is just a good kind soul that would join a guild to aid them and help give them the right direction.

(stat sheet to come later with full background)

Some comments:

Walking dad, Garyh, Velmont: I haven't checked throughly, but the stats look good.

Lobo: Perfect. Just perfect fulfillment of the "requirements". To be a bit pedantic: the name of the cities are Partas and Blenir (for who hasn't noticed: all the geographic names but Barnost are anagrams; bonus points for those who guess them ;) ) Also, I would talk about battallions rather than legions, since a "legion" would be technically composed by more than four thousand soldiers (or at least so I remember).

Bialaska: nice background.

I am glad I aroused interes. Till now we have (tell me if i missed someone):
Walking dad - Human Wizard (no background)
Garyh - Warforged Ranger (dual-wielder)
Velmont - Elf Cleric
Lobo - Dragonborn Paladin
Bialaska - Dwarf Cleric (no stats)
Shaggy - Elf Fighter (no stats)
Geogator - Dragonborn Wizard (no stats)

I wanted to also put my 2 cents here as well. I was thinking of doing an Eladrin Battle Cleric that would take the ranger multiclass feat.

Aust Xilocent

Story: Not having really much of a background Aust always had a paricular sense of the world for an Eladrin. Aust was very much attached to the world at large and made sure that he was able to help anything and everything with his might. He made a pact with Corellon as to protect everything with his strength and skill. He quickly aligned his clerical skills with skills of the ranger to better protect all.

Looks: Very slenderly built, weigh only 138lbs Aust stands at a 5'6" with blond hair and green eyes filled with wonder. Normally Aust has some sort of leaves in his hair as to try and blend it in with the forest he so loves. Wearing chainmail that has the symbol of his god blazen on it's chest, and wearing a long sword and a dagger at his hip

Personality: Very different from normal Eladrin standards, Aust has a very open mind and listens rather than the normal lofty "I'm better than you" style of his race. Also very caring Aust goes out of his way to protect those that are in need of protect while dealing divine wrath to those that deserve it.

will post stats tomorrow. at work atm :p
