If I have just cried then it was for you, today.
Every tear that I shed was made in a special way.
I formed them with love and dropped them carefree,
In the vein of everything you'd taught me to be.
I'd often think of you when I felt down on my luck,
You'd hold me together, you're the glue that never unstuck.
Now I can hardly believe what I am told,
You walked in the dark, and now I am so cold.

But now, you live in heaven,
Where the sun will always shine.
You dreams and wishes will come true,
As I know you watch out for mine.

If you are still gone when I open my eyes, I will know,
That the news sent to me was by angels, no fake show.
There is just a space where you'd built up your empire,
Now my heart is a mess, and my tears a salty fire.
Scatter the winds and make me understand why you went,
For try as I might, I can only feel hollow and bent.
You were the reason why I could smile on a rainy day,
But you've gone to a better place, the Lord did say:

"Come with me, unto Heaven:
I have so much more yet to show,
There are fields of dreams and pastures,
And the sunset is a sweet afterglow."

I don't begrudge anything you have now,
But in my darkest hours, I pray for your soul.
Knelt beside my bed, I whisper your name,
As the cool draws in, I know you can hear me say...

For now, you live in Heaven,
Come to visit and watch me weep.
One day, we'll meet again,
And you will smile at me...
Until then, may your memories softly sleep...
