Putting Pictures in Descriptions

Several people have found out how to add images to their descriptions. For the clueless, the code is standard HTML:

<img src="http://yourpicture.dom">

The image must be up on the web and not just on your local computer. I recommend Photobucket (www.photobucket.com) as a free image host that's easy to use and well regarded.

If you have a physical drawing and no scanner to digitalize your work, try a local copy shop.

And please remember that some people have slow connections and computers! Try to reduce your image filesize as much as possible before you link to it. Tips on reducing filesize:

1) make it smaller
2) reduce the number of colors (256 is often plenty, 16 is fine for grayscale, take it down to 2 colors if it's strictly a black & white line drawing without shading)
3) don't use the default ".bmp" filetype -- it's the most accurate but also the most hefty
4) use ".jpg" filetype if lots of colors but you don't care about some blurring
5) use ".gif" filetype if you want accurate edges but no more than 256 colors
