Alright, folks, I need to take a leave of absence for about a week and a half. I won't be able to post or read, so Sojourn will have to be put on hold for the duration of my absence. I have one more night at a computer, so I should be able to do some approvals before I go.

[Swiper Impression]Awwwww Maaaaaaann![/Swiper Impression]

OOC: Seriously, that's too bad but we'll live I guess. :heh: Anyway, Here's hoping that whatever's got you occupied for that duration is at least as much fun as you'd be having here or more. And who knows, maybe by the time you return Kurgahz will get approved for his 2nd level! ;) :uhoh:

On the bright side, I guess now I have more time to focus on DMing me new LEW adventure! See ya back week after next Rae!

Thanks! Okay, last post before I'm off.

--------------

Jilsa responds to Conuld's query about Jonda, "
Jonda is always this way. He grew up young, I suppose. He may open up once we travel together for a time. And I have no quarrel with Kurgahz for what he did. Our actions warranted his retaliation. I believe we will get along fine
."

You all finish breakfast and head outside. "The Four J's" are given back their weapons and loaded up with stuff, but despite the redistribution of weight, the horses still seem a tad overburdened. You all head off at the same time as Fehl, but faster, and you soon leave him behind. The trees on the sides of the road grow ever sparser, and you notice a slight gradient in the path now.

You make it to Antreil by the end of the day. The path cuts between two hills and suddenly opens out into a large plains. Many wooden buildings litter the vast field before you, and a tight cluster of them is only about a mile away. Far in the distance you can see the sun setting behind the green, hilly lands beyond the town before you. Antreil is a large village by comparison to some others you've passed through, but by no means a city like Orussus.

There are several inns in the village proper, and a clean, brightly lit tavern as well. The people are friendly and used to travelers of all kinds, and they welcome you to their community for the evening.

OOC: Feel free to buy supplies at standard SRD prices. There is a weapons and armor supplier (human, not dwarven), and 'Tons' is a magical supply shop. (Owned and operated by Misters Stilton and Felton)

I was thinking, since you guys were traveling at 48mpd for the first part of this adventure, of having some ancient elven magic active on the Seven Bridges Road, like a permanent longstrider or something. Maybe the whole route is a remnant of an ancient alliance between dwarves and elves (the dwarves built the bridges and the elves cast magic on the road to make travel faster and easier) Tell me what you think.

Alright, that's all for now. See you in a few days!

"Is there a chance of spending one day at rest here?" asks Conuld. "Before we reach the desert, I should like to have transcribed a certain scroll in my possession into my spellbook. I can do it at any time, but whenever I do so, it will take a full day, and I shall feel happier once it is safely done. If we do tarry here, can you all find something to keep yourselves occupied? Let's see... someone should take that sack of copper pennies to a merchant who is willing to change it into larger coins. Are there items we wish to sell here? Perhaps we could part with that amusing animal conjuring bag I took from the riverfolk. I think I have learned all I can from it. I should think we could get at least forty dragons for it, if Fehl Stilton's store has that kind of money available."

"That sounds like a reasonable course of action to me, Conuld," Lasair replies.

*During the trip, she keeps a bit of an eye on the Riverfolk to see how they are progressing. After they reach camp, she has them perform pointless and menial tasks like digging holes and then filling them up again until they are exhausted, but she still makes sure they are taken care of, and she also tries to get Jilna balanced meals with all the essential nutrients when possible instead of just hard rations. She will not socialise with them frivolously any more now that they are tal zij (OOC: That was going to be what Meliana did if Lasair hit level 5 to get Telepathic Speech, since Meliana is quite literally the part of Lasair that wishes she could keep talking with them and find out more about them).*

OOC: it seems it will take 2 days to get that spell transcribed*: a day to understand the scroll - "Next, she must spend a day studying the spell" - and then another day to record it in the spellbook - "The process takes 24 hours, regardless of the spell’s level". Unless anyone objects, Conuld will do that.
*'cos I forgot that Conuld bought the scroll the day the group set out and hasn't had any chance to peruse the scroll since.

(OOC: That's weird--I thought they had changed all the listed '24 hours' to 'a day' and that 'a day' in D&D terms has become the maximum time they'll let you work on magic items, research, etc--8 hours. If that were the case, he'd be able to tackle it on the off-time of 8 hours each day after riding)
