Non-Random Minis for D&D?

Since the 4E game now assumes the use of minis and battle grids, has anyone heard of plans to release non-random packs of minis? Somehow I doubt they'll do that.

Merric's Law of Miniatures: Non-Random Packaging, Cheap Prices, and a Large Range of Figures: Choose two.

Words of wisdom.
I would care so much about a wide range of figures. This could work as themed sets.

Even better would be to package the right amount of minis for a specific adventure (Keep on the Shadowfell) for the right price. I'd pay $30-$40 for that.

It'll be interesting to see what they do.

I use numbered pieces of foam, square cut-outs of various colors. They are light, easy to store, never fly away like paper, and very cheap. Also, it would be easy to create a secondary piece that lays on top of the first to indicate conditions.
