It's a one-handed, high crit, heavy blade. It's got a +2 to hit and does 1d8. I don't see why it would need errata.
It's less accurate than a longsword, and not very good for two-handed use, but is just as damaging and able to slice viciously with luck. It seems fine and balanced to me.
