Bah, always lookin' on the bright side a'things, aren't ya.

How ya know we ain't dead?

Jarl looked around as he spoke, looking for something, anything that was familiar that might give him some indication of where they had ended up.

Trees are the only surroundings, forming a thick canopy overheard that nearly blocks out the sky. The pinpoints of light that manage to seep through cannot accurately relay the time of day.

The doorway that you stepped through is vanished, forcing your to question whether you even stepped through one at all.

And as the dust settles from your battle and your bearings return, you realize that your party of six is less by one, that the rogue Oriah Darksong has made not this journey, but likely another.

And somewhere, the Raven Queen waits with open arms...

"Oriah..." Khemnos whispers. "Where's Oriah?! There was a blast, but if whatever happened sent us here, maybe she's here, too! We have to find her!"

More likely she was blown to smithereens Jarl thought. It seemed to him there was a certain irony that the devotee of the Raven Queen couldn't see that. This was probably not a good time to mention that however.

We'll not be helpin' anyone, 'til we help ourselves I'm thinkin'.

Jarl stumped back over to the corpse of the gnoll, eyeing the woods suspiciously as he went. Who knew what other unpleasantness might be lurking out there. He crouched down next to the body and gave it a good shake.

Hey beastie, can ya tell me where we are?

Bah. I don't guess ya can, can ya?

Jarl began to pick through its possessions, looking for some helpful clue or useful something.

"Oriah vanished before the door ever appeared," Erin reminds Khemnos with unusual gentleness. She seems genuinely regretful of the rogue's fate.

"It's unlikely she's shared our fate."

She sighed and moved forward, limping on her hurt leg for a step or two until the stiffness was worked out. The mage ignored the gnolls though, leaving their looting to the others. Instead she concentrated on the surroundings; the trees and plants. Perhaps if she could recognize some, it would be a clue as to where they were...

Selenia looks around, then puts a hand on Khemnos' shoulder. "There are more forces out there than just the Raven Queen, friend. We know nothing about the powers that brought us here, let's not leap to conclusions about what happened to any of us."

The tiefling looked at Selenia as a drowning man looks at a rope thrown his way.

"See? See?" Khemnos said. "Who knows what's happened? We have to find out what we can, quickly."

Well, whatever’s happened to bring us here is done. I say we not linger longer than we need to.

Let’s just check to our gear and press on.

The gnoll was armed with a sturdy longbow and a handful of arrows, and has a gnarled handaxe strapped to its side. It is wearing leather armor, but has nothing else of any use.

Erin doesn't recognize her current surroundings. It is as if the companions were literally picked up and wafted off to some far off land.

[sblock=Selenia; passive insight]You flash back briefly to the start of this whole thing, to the gnoll's actions and gestures. You couldn't understand the words, but the tone... the tone definitely suggested a warning. Not a warning to you, but...[/sblock]
