We'll just have to agree to disagree. I don't see the RPGA as having been just one thing, nor do I see it as gone. I see the name as having been set aside and the character of organized play as always evolving. The name RPGA was seen positively by some and negatively by others (sometimes very strongly). I think retiring the name was a good idea and makes it possible to bring it back in a way that could be far more positive.

I have a number of praises and reservations regarding various aspects of current organized play. It is a complex situation and a very challenging task to create a good program that appeals to many demographics without alienating some.

Looking at an old Polyhedron adventure I found this fun advertisement from issue 87 (1993) for the then upcoming 1994 Winter Fantasy.
