OOC: So is Ghavdrash sticking with Rydan and Guard, or slinking like Firil if not actually with Firil? And what of Shale?

Ghavdrash's actions

OOC: Ghavdrash will go with Rydan and Guard, and will be on alert during the walk to the square, but with weapons not in hand. Once we reach the square, assuming our friend isn't already there, Ghavdrash will likely spend a few minutes scanning the surrounding alleys and balconies for people keeping watch on the square.

Ghavdrash sees no one keeping watch on the square, he thinks, but wait! That hooded, cloaked form on that balcony on the near side of the square that just lit a candle and then withdrew into the shadow of a doorway, could that mean something?

OOC: I'd really like to know how many players I still have, if it's not too much trouble.

OOC: Waiting for PCs' reactions. Ghavdrash specifically stated his vigilance, but any/all PCs may have seen the form on the balcony lighting a candle, at player discretion.

Ghavdrash quietly moves to Guard and Rydan and slightly motions towards the balcony with his eyes and head. He looks for a doorway under the balcony to enter.

Firil remains in the shadows, silently drawing his axes and finding a vantage spot that allows a good view of the whole square, his back to a wall.

Rydan pulls up short at the sudden flare of light. He says softly to the others with only a trace of a slur from the nights drinking, "The fellow lit a candle where we could see it. I think that must be our host, or whatever you call the person who invites one to a clandestine meeting. Let's go over." He moves along the edge of the square quietly toward the doorway.

No doorway is visible from your vantage. Below the edge of the balcony where the figure and the candle are located, the lower portion of the house is obscured by a large hedgerow which seems to serve as both screen and fence. You do note that the figure seems rather stooped, almost hunchbacked. You also notice, or imagine, long, needle-like thorns on the hedgerow, shining in what sparse starlight and moonlight there is.

Ghavdrash whispers, "The straight way up will hurt. Let"s go around." He looks for a way around the house to find another entrance.
