Elandra's smile gets bigger and bigger, until the end when the birdman finishes, and she turns to the rest of the group wide-eyed and teeth gleaming, pointing at the man-pheasant. She nods enthusiastically towards the birdman, pointing with both hands.

It's... fairly obvious she thinks this is a great idea. It may be the greatest idea she's ever heard of. Like, a lot the best.

The birdfolk hands Ellandra a map. "This will guide you to the location. Take a day to prepare; the desert is not a friendly place. And when you find the treasure..." He hands Rogun a bag. "Return and meet me here. You can signal me by standing on this same roof and waving a torch."

With that, he opens his wings, and seemingly without flapping lifts up into the air and disappears into the clouds once again. Now that you think of it, birdfolk aren't supposed to be able to fly.

Howl watches the birdman fly out of sight. He had never seen such a creature before, and to think that it could also talk and deliver maps and... maps?

"What is map?" he said suddenly, "I want see."

The map shows mostly empty space, as it depicts the desert, though the filled-in spaces don't seem to be very cartographically accurate, more just indicators of landmarks and their relative positions. The bag is even more uninteresting. Upon further examination, you find that it is the most ordinary, unmagical sack you have ever laid eyes upon, though it does contain a tiny red gem. The cut of the gem (possibly a ruby, but it is so small that it's hard to tell; it could just be colored class) is rough, so even if this is a real gemstone, it would not be worth much.

"What. A. Showoff," said Talashia as she picked herself up from where she'd been sitting, watching the spectacle. With dusky tan skin and improbably-shaded silver-white hair and blue eyes, the sorceress was as beautiful in her own way as Elandra. Where one was fresh-faced and delightfully perky, the other was exotic and more sultry in demeanor. Wind gusted as Talashia stood, making her long hair and her cloak stream out and ripple dramatically. The idea that her calling someone else a showoff might be just a touch ironic never even occurred to her.

"It's a scam," she concluded without even looking at the map. "He didn't give us any evidence that he'd found anything. He didn't even tell us what the 'emblems' are so we can double check him. And he's just going to give us the location of a fabulous treasure and then trust us to bring his share back here and signal him?"

Talashia shook her head.

"He must think we're idiots." She yawned and stretched. "So...I'm thirsty. Who's turn is it to buy again?"

The dragonborn, Srasut, rubs his scaly chin. "It is odd that he didn't specify what share of the treasure he intends to keep for himself. Perhaps he's interested in it as more of a historical pursuit?"

"Birdman is bringer of good fortune. Seem wrong to ignore omen," Howl says matter-of-factly. "Maybe place have more blood rock?"

Howl stuck his jackal head into the sack and sniffed quizzically at the tiny red stone.
