While his history will pretty much remain the same as outlined in The Traveller Adventure(Miller, 1983), I have changed Gvouzdon a bit to reflect my concept of him. For example: He does not possess Gunnery skill. To me he was more of a 'leader' than a spacer, learning skills that would promote his survival--hence the close combat feats.

Summarized from The Traveller Adventure(page 27):

G. spent 12 years in Kforuzeng, a corsair band ranging several subsectors just coreward of the Imperial border. Eventually, Gvouzdon rose to the rank of Force Leader. A power struggle nine years ago left Gvouzdon with the losing minority faction. Gvouz, in order to maintain his prestige among his fellow Vargr joined Aegzaeng, a smaller group of corsairs that shared the same range as Kforuzeng.

As a former force leader with Aegzaeng's rivals, Gvouzdon was given a position as an emissary between the two bands. In the course of eight years Gvouzdon saw expansion of Kforuzeng and the contraction of his own group. He saw the writing on the wall, Aegzaeng would be absorbed and G. would be back where he started. Before the blow to his charisma could hit, he put his affairs in order and left, taking among other things the Brooch that apparently is more than just a piece of jewelry.

Since his resignation, Gvouzdon has wandered from world to world taking odd jobs here and there and trying to keep a few steps ahead of the Kforuz and heading generally towards Imperial space.

Shortly before the crew of the
March Harrier first sees him, he has just lost his possessions having being taken advantage of by a local pawn shop.

As part of the privileged class of nobility in Zhondani space, Epletsatl (which means Seeker of Answers), knew that the opportunities for him were unlimited. From his homeworld of Biezchodl (3201 Ziafrplians), he had always looked coreward through the red haze of main star's dwarf companion. Someday he would be there. The core was the last frontier and it was every young boy's dream. He received his wish, joining the Expedtionary Force that would send fleets up and down the starlanes to the extents even as far as the Core Expedition's frontiers. His natural talent of telepathy would help with any number of applicatons--from crew mental health to alien contact. Sometimes travelling in cold sleep and sometimes moving in real space, he was assinged to a military/exploration vessel that explored laterally from the main corridor. He planned for a lifetime of exploration out on the fringes of known space.

Then something terrible happened, and that is all Epletsatl knows. His last memories are hazy and he has nightmares to this day, but his first "new" memory takes him back to the Imperial/Zhodani frontier where he tackled his new assignment as a diplomat for Consulate Client States with relish and enthusiasm. At some point during his tenure, he fully developed his psionic abilties to an extrordinarily high level. So high that he was brought to the attention of ????. He was subsequently recruited and sent as a plant for the next several years using his diplomatic status as a front. During one of his terms dealing with Vargr Clients he ran into the Chevaliers where he developed a sincere friendship with these Imperial citizens.

The outbreak of the Fifth Frontier War saw him recalled to several fronts to conduct and counter espionage, including some deep insertions into Imperial Space where his teleportation powers gave him and the troops under his guide a significant advantage. Finally, the war was done and he returned to being the diplomat, his days as a ???? nearly ended. However, something that crossed his desk before he left caught his attention: An Imperial Project aimed at studying the Zhodani Core Expeditions.

Perhaps they would know something about those missing years. He went rogue and tried to find leads as to the wherabout of this secret Imperial project. It did not take much skill to track down Hans and Rani, and now he feels he is getting close....

Interesting. Perhaps we can know why he went berserk and almost shot up the cockpit of our ship! Answerin shock troops and Zhodani have little love lost between them. Respect! Yes. Love? NO! Perhaps the Zhodani can answer some of these mysteries for us.:D

Have you ever met a man who had been on the run his whole life? Jacob Henderson cannot remember the last time he stayed in the same port for more than a month nor can he recall when he has not looked over his shoulder. Over 20 years ago, Jacob graduated with honors from the Technical Academy of Scien, located on the moon orbiting Ember (2227 Sol), only three parsecs from the Solamni homeworld of Terra. He had a promising career lined up as a Security Systems Analyst for a prestigious off-world company, but one too many hate-ridden, anti-Imperial speeches listened to in the hidden shadows during his college days led him along the wrong path. Run-ins with Navy types from the Imperial Naval Base at Ember didn't help either.

From the perspective of a Solomani patriot/freedom fighter, he had made the right decision. Unfortunately, on his first mission for The Cause, deliverling "medical supplies" to anti-Vegan radicals on Esperance (1116 Sol) he was caught and sent to the penal mining colony of Newcombe (2913 So1). There he learned a measure of toughness from his fellow inmates. His four year stint turned to eight when he was captured on a failed prison break. This time he played the model prisoner while inside he seethed at the Imperials.

He fled to the Solomani Confederation where he was recruited quickly by SolSec. For the next eight years he rose in the ranks of the Solomani Security Forces conducting covert ops at the edges of the Confederation both Rimward and Coreward. It was during this time he was cybernetically enhanced. While the Imperium has qualms about everything from psionics to cyberware to robotics, the Solomani drive technolgy to its ethical limits as long as it give them an edge. Working for SolSec, Jacob bought into this philosophy and allowed himself to go under the knife.

It seems that this extreme loyalty would not be rewarded. Towards the end of his second tour he encountered a dark secret two sectors Rimward of the Solomani Confederation border within several of the semi-autonomous colonies there. It was a secret that could mean the destruction of the Confederation and the secret led back to SolSec close the highest levels. When word got out that Jacob knew, he became expendable. He fled Spinward and Coreward into Aslan space using his contacts to join privateers near the Great Rift in Reaver's Deep sector. He tried his best to change his identity but still They followed. Finally, he travelled across the Rift sometimes for working passage and sometimes in low berth cautiously relying on Aslan hospitality, but he did not stop. He felt that They were always a jump or two behind.

He reached the edges of Imperial Space in the Spinward Marches, still holding on to the old Solomani loyalties, but confounded by the betrayl. On Aramis, he meets the crew of the
March Harrier, and after being paid to drop a fleeing enemy, has been with the crew ever since.
