This is something I whipped up this evening. It's not an excerpt from N.E.W., but it is a "retelling" of the same rules. I'm not 100% sure why I did it - I think I was just putting together an example of theater-of-the-mind play, and I kept explaining things and realised I'd just written the starship combat rules down again, but in different words. Therefore it may be a tad rambly or needing of better structure. You probably need to understand the WOIN core system to make sense of it, since I don't explain how to form dice pools or what skills and attributes and exploits are or any of that stuff.
