First: Credit to all those before who worked on the supercharger chassis. Also, if anyone who has a supercharger thread (or even LDB, or anyone else, with their fighter handbooks) thinks that I am stepping too much on their toes, let me know and I'll move this thread to a better location.

Second: This is only a look at what the supercharger can achieve at the moment. In the DPR Kings 2 thread I tossed up a bizarre Warlock charger who reaches 134 DPR; but I wanted to do something a little more playable. The following Real Supercharger can achieve 160 DPR.

Third: This is definitely a work in progress, as the feat order is non-existent, my lower level snap shots aren't around, and the defences will definitely have to be increased at the cost of some damage. But we'll show you the pure offensive version first just as a starting point.

Obvious changes would include picking up Improved Defenses, Epic Reflexes, Epic Will; I would also much rather pick up Novice Power and be a Gnoll as my second species than a Genasi, so that I could use Hurricane of Blades with a charge. However, that's at least 6 feats lost, which will probably lose 15-30 DPR on the build. Which still leaves it much higher than I ever thought a charger could get.

If anyone could post a feat order for me, that would be amazing. Also, opinions on exactly how much defense this build should pick up would be awesome, as would opinions on Gnoll+Hurricane of Blades.

Nothing to write home about, but not completely without hope either. Since you'll still be marking anyone you attack, you'll be able to do your job as a defender well; and since you are wielding a very effective gouge, your Combat Challenge/AoO's are pretty darn sweet as well, so whomever you pick on is probably going to stay with you, as is normal with a fighter. As something worth looking into, if you don't mind sacrificing ability in epic, switch around stats to get polearm momentum promptly in paragon. This will let you guarantee shift+charge attacks with Wicked Strike against the same target; but since it requires significant Wisdom, and Overwhelming Strike in Epic is strictly better, I'm not putting it in as a default choice.

Not posted anywhere. Just a generic Valenar Half-Elf Morninglord Eternal Seeker. TO material, only good against tofu. The main trick I'd missed is the Queen's Gift item set, and the ring. (160.65 at 30th, 65.97 at 16th, 269@)

I put up 2 builds. Both item independant.

Basics Tactic:
Oath, attack with word of exchange (protection) to make the target easier to hit and enable rune of vengence (even if you miss). The wait for an ally to hit, and smack it with overwhelming strike for a solid 2 attacks per turn.

Extras:
Painful oath adds to runepriest and avenger attacks (it's 1/turn, so it'll work on the reaction).
Supplement with avenger minor (not immediate) action attacks (fury's advance, soul forged hammering).
Runepriest powers will help allies hit your target (word of exchange, rune of the conquering sign).
You can heal adds more damage and primes your vengance rune (when you use a daily).
Warlord Friendly with a strong MBA.

Defiant Defender has massive defenses it uses at-will prone to keep enemies nearby. This works best with a ranged heavy party where you can take point and allies can trigger your bonus from a distance. If you have a melee ally, try to go right before him so you can hit, he can hit, then you can overwhelming strike prone, then he can shift away.

Also, when you are missed, you get +Wis for all your attacks. Unload soulforge hammering, and fury's assault.
Defiant Defender

Race: Minotaur: Minotaur and longtooth shifter both have +2 to Str and Wis.
Class: Hybrid, Avenger, Runepriest: Basis of the build
Runepriest Option: Defiant Word: +Wis to damage when missed, no issue with hybrids, and works for all attacks that round
Background: Auspicious Birth:
Paragon Path: Hammer of Vengance: Provides us with a repeatable off action attack
Epic Destiny: Destined Scion: Hitting is good.

Starting Stats

Final Stats
Str 28 Con 13 Dex 15 Int 12 Wis 28 Cha 10

Defenses:

Feats:
1: Hybrid Talent (Runepriest Armor Profiency): Very solid Scale + Shield
2: Flail Expertise: Overwhelming strike prones.
4: Power of Skill: Our OA get's a double roll and prones.
6:
8: Heavy Shield
10: Battle Awareness: Prereq, also Covers the times we won't have a Rune of Vengance
11: Painfull Oath: This has no hybrid issues, and will add to runepriest attacks as well
12: Superior Will
14: Superior Fortitude
16: Lightning Reflex (retrain to Superior Reflex at 21)
18: Ubiquitous Shield (retrain to Scale Specialization at 22)
20: Encouraging Shield
21: Slashing Storm: Highly likely to hit at least once, so make a nice zone for yourself.
22: Epic Fortitude
24: Epic Reflex
26: Epic Will
28: Mythic Senses
30: Stout Shield

At-Will:
Overwhelming Strike: Oath benifit on MBA, and provides some much needed positioing and control.
Word of Exchange: Used in protection, it helps our allies hit, which let's us hit again.

Equipment: Alhulak +6, Heavy Shield, Scale +6, Amulet of Protection +6

Defiant DPR 69.28

Assuming 2 attacks per turn
Assuming Oath of emnitiy on Overwhelming Strike
Assuming Painfull Oath on both attacks
Assuming Word of Defiant, or slashing storms (they stack, but are both situational)
Assuming +2 to hit from CA, or word of exchange (they stack, but are both situational)

Word of Exchange:
39 vs AC, (35% miss, 60% hit, 5% crit)
1d8 + 9(str) + 6 (enh) + Wis (9) + Wis (9) = 37.5
Crit: 8 + 9 + 6 + 9 + 9 + 6d6 (21) = 62

Overwhelming Strike:
39 vs AC roll twice (12.25% miss, 87.75% hit, 9.75% crit)
Overwhelming Strike: 2d8 + 9 (wis) + 6 (enh) + wis (9) + wis (9) = 42
Crit: 16 + 9 + 6 + 9 + 9 + 6d6(21) = 70

37.5 * .60 + 62 * .05 + 42 * .87.75 + 70 * .0975 = 69.28

Serene Killer focuses more on damage. Using Serene instead of defiant allows you to take something else for your hybrid talent. In this case, censure of unity. Better in melee heavy parties, this build is designed for everyone to group up on 1 target and decimate it.

Crit: 52- 9 (painful oath) = 43 * 96% (triumphant attack, i'm not recursing) = 41.28 + 3 (max dice) + 21 (6d6) = 65.28

45.5 * .7 + 65.28 * .1 = 38.378
53 * .93.75 + 65.28 * .19 = 62.0907
+3 (divine distraction)
= 103.4687

KPR 0.564723106

Between soulforged hammering, fury's assualt, epic resurgence and divine mastery i'm just going to assume 1 extra attack per turn.

45.5 -9 (painful oath) =
36.5 * .91 + 65.28 * .19
= 45.6182
+103.4687
= 149.0869 / 264
= 0.564723106

Other thoughts:
Variants: Serene with Armor of Faith could make a nice balanced build.
Items: It's very easy to boost damage with some items. Iron armbands of power is a given. Frost is a classic. Symbol of victory is an easy bonus.
Stats: You could drop Wis a bit since avengers reroll. This can open up other races.

Attack & Damage Breakdown

Go-To At-Will: Overwhelming Strike
Base: +36 vs AC, 2d12+29
Actual: +36 vs AC, 2d12+55, from a cold start.

Attack Breakdown:
+9, Wis
+15, 1/2 Level
+3, Proficiency
+6, Enhancement
+3, Expertise/feat bonus

Total base: +36

+2, Combat Advantage-- applicable on first attack via Enmity Shared, sustained via Deadly Draw.
-2, Power Attack

Total actual: +36

Damage Breakdown:
+9, Wis
+6, item-Iron Armbands of Power
+6, Enhancement
+4, Power of Strength
+4, Githzerai Blademaster

Total Base: +29

+5, Siberys Shard of Radiance
+3, set bonus, Gifts for the Queen set-- 3 pieces: Ring of the Radiant Storm, Crown, Slippers.
+9, Wis- Painful Oath
+9, Power Attack

Total Actual: +55

Extra damage considerations

On-Crit:
-- Target gains vuln: 10 Radiant UENT (factored here as +10 damage UENT)
-- Target gains -2 to all defenses and -2 to hit (Factored here as +2 to hit)
-- Font of Radiance + Punishing Radiance = 3d6 (save ends) +10 UENT. Factored here as: 3d6+10, assuming the target always saves on first attempt. Note: actual average from this is higher.
-- Bloodiron carry-over
-- 2 x Ring of Giants =+24 damage

-- 1/turn Overwhelming Strike, via Ardent Fury + Power of Skill. +38 vs AC, 2d12+44
Attack & Damage Breakdown

Attack:
+9, Wis
+15, 1/2 Level
+3, Proficiency
+3, Expertise
+6, Enchantment
+2, Combat Advantage
+2, Triumphant Attack
-2, Power Attack

Damage:
+9, Wis
+9, Power Attack
+4, Githzerai Blademaster
+6, item- Iron Armbands of Power
+6, Enchantment
+10, vuln: Radiant + Pervasive Light

Slashing Storm: +9 damage, applied 89.3% of the time (as per hit %)
-- Alternative: The target shifts, teleports, or moves away. If this happens, the Avenger charges, and gains +14 damage UENT from Censure of Pursuit. The charge is made at: +37 vs AC, 2d12+65 damage.

At-Will DPR: 141.18*, assuming the target remains adjacent.
-- Alternative/assuming target moves away to avoid Slashing Storm: 144.41.
Note: Actual At-Will DPR is higher than listed. These numbers do not include Ring of the Radiant Storm calcs, do not carry over Punishing Radiance to subsequent turns, they assume that Font of Radiance is saved against on the first attempt, etc. If I had to guess, I would assume that the actual DPR is above 150. RotRS alone should bump it up by about 3 points, I think.
*Edited to add... Note: Factoring in the Ring of the Radiant Storm (but none of the other elements I left on the table), the DPR for this comes out to.... 144

In conclusion...

Don't fight him, or this happens...

Bending the rules quite a bit on this one... so it is not in consideration for this thread. But I needed somewhere to place it

I'm assuming some things:
* The target has Frost Vulnerabilty every round due to Lasting Frost (seems a typical assumption)
* You play LFR (3 combats per scenario)
* You've already cast either Stinking Cloud or Wall of Fire (math below assumes Stinking Cloud)
* You use Improved Tome of Readiness to prepare one of the those two spells every combat.
* You can position yourself to push the foe into your zone with Thunderwave. Hence the Wyvern mount.
* You use a Tempest Whetstone on your main-hand implement (hence that's 3 daily magic item uses) -- it's only used to add the Lightning keyword.

This is single-target DPR, every round, for 3 combats (LFR scenario).

16th level Wizard, Paragon Path of your choice

Ability Scores:
Str 14, Con 13, Dex 13, Int 24, Wis 15, Cha 9

Feats:
Elemental Empowerment
Arcane Implement Proficiency (Light Blades)
Implement Expertise (Light Blades)
Superior Implement Training (Lancing Dagger)
Weapon Focus (Light Blades)
Wintertouched
Two-Weapon Fighting
Improved Tome of Readiness
Dual Implement Spellcaster
Lasting Frost

Gear:
+3 Lancing Frost Dagger (main hand)
+4 Magic Dagger (off hand)
Wyvern
Gloves of Ice (Paragon Tier)
Siberys Shard of the Mage (Paragon Tier)
Tempest Whetstone (x3)
Rushing Cleats

Attack Bonus Sources:
+8 (Levels)
+7 (Intelligence)
+3 enhancement (+3 weapon)
+2 (Combat Advantage)
+2 (Implement Expertise)

Damage Bonus Sources:
+7 (Intelligence)
+3 (Siberys Shard of the Mage)
+2 Elemental Empowerment
+3 enhancement (+3 implement)
+5 Frost vulnerability
+3 Lancing dagger (lightning)
+4 dual implement (+4 implement)
+2 (Gloves of Ice)
+2 feat (Weapon Focus)
+1 (Two-Weapon Fighting)

Attack: +22 vs. Fort with CA
Thunderwave: 1d6+32 cold & lightning damage
Crit Thunderwave: 3d6+2d10+38 cold & lightning damage
Enter Stinking Cloud: 1d10+32 cold & lightning damage
Start in Stinking Cloud: 1d10+32 cold & lightning damage

DPR: (0.65)*(35+37+37) + (0.05)*(59+37+37) = 70.85 + 6.65 = 77.5 DPR

This is single-target DPR.

You actually do more single-target DPR if you hit 2 targets, due to the Tempest Whetstone (which was not included above). And for 2 out of the 3 combats you'd actually be using Wall of Fire instead.

EDIT: or you can lower Str, increase Wis, and push 4 with Thunderwave instead of push 3, and do 75.4 DPR single-target DPR instead. Or also sub Gauntlets of the Ram for Gloves of Ice and do roughly ~70 DPR with a push 5. Not sure if there is anything else that would increase the push.

ITEMS

Catstep Boots (heroic tier), Subtle Dagger +3, Incisive Dagger Dagger +3, Shadow Warlock Leather Armor +2, Cloak of Translocation +2

DPR Calculations

Assumptions: the character always has concealment from shadow walk (and can teleport 4 meaning it would need consistent dazes or stuns to stop this). It also benefits from prime shot and will get attacked once by the enemy (easily achieved by sitting next to an enemy).

Hellish Rebuke hit bonus:

6(Con)+6(half level)+3(enhancement bonus)+1(Prime Shot)+1(Storm Bonus Adept)+1(Implement Expertise)+2(Combat Advantage)=+20 vs Reflex

Hellish Rebuke damage (1 hit):

D6+6(Con)+3(Enhancement)+3(Offhand enhancement)+6(Storm Bonus Adept)+5(Called shot)+3(Subtle shot)=29.5 damage

Hellish Rebuke critical damage (1 hit):

3D6+6(max D6)+6(Con)+3(Enhancement)+3(Offhand enhancement)+6(Storm Bonus Adept)+5(Called shot)+3(Subtle shot)=42.5 damage

So, Hellish Rebuke vs Reflex 24:

5% crit

0.05*(Hellish Rebuke crit)*2(trigger secondary damage)=4.25

15% miss:

80% hit:

0.8*(Hellish Rebuke)*2(trigger secondary damage)=47.2

51.45 damage per Hellish Rebuke on average.

In each turn I get 1 Hellish Rebuke (Standard)+6 damage (Riposte)+Hellish Rebuke (Riposte Mastery)

Curse Damage: (1-0.15*0.15)*2D6=6.84

So DPR=6+2*51.45+6.84=115.74 with Riposte triggered

For a non-riposte turn, I get: 1 Hellish Rebuke:

Curse damage: 0.85*2D6=5.95

DPR=51.45+5.95=57.4

If you want the unavoidable route, here is the non-riposte build.

DPR: 64.55

Hellish Rebuke hit bonus:

Hellish Rebuke damage (1 hit):

D6+6(Con)+3(Enhancement)+3(Offhand enhancement)+6(Storm Bonus Adept)+5(Called shot)+3(Subtle shot)+2(Weapon Focus)=31.5 damage

Hellish Rebuke critical damage (1 hit):

3D6+6(max D6)+6(Con)+3(Enhancement)+3(Offhand enhancement)+6(Storm Bonus Adept)+5(Called shot)+3(Subtle shot)+2(Weapon Focus)=44.5 damage

So, Hellish Rebuke vs Reflex 24:

5% crit

0.05*((Hellish Rebuke crit)*2(trigger secondary damage)+12(curse))=5.05

10% miss:

85% hit:

0.85*((Hellish Rebuke)*2(trigger secondary damage)+2D6)=59.50

64.55 damage per Hellish Rebuke on average.

In each turn I get 1 Hellish Rebuke (Standard)

So DPR=64.55

Note that I am counting the trigger on all of these attacks because I can teleport 4 (including 10ft vertical) and take D10/2 damage (no prone due to catstep boots) to trigger Hellish Rebuke.

Figured those DPRs are worth mentionning, especially since against a DM who triggers white lotus the DPR goes through the roof.

I was playing around with a character concept for an upcoming campaign, after a little thought I was curious how high I could push the dpr. If I end up playing the character I think I will make it a little more balanced, but I am pretty happy with the results as far as sustainable over the top damage is concerned. As such I'm just going to include the dpr relevant aspects of this build.

Edit: I decided to follow crabcrouton’s advice and use a Blood Fury weapon to trigger Longtooth Shifting and Battle Fury Stance for an extra 2 damage and 4 damage encounter-long respectively. Then drop the weapon (free action) and pull out a Frost weapon with a Battle Harness armor before attacking. I’ve left the old calculations in place (strikethrough) and labeled the new stuff with new/edit for anyone interested in distinguishing the two.

OK. I want to try a level 8 Drow Scout/Cutthroat build.

Main hand dpr 20.925
dwa dpr 19.925
bravo dpr 40.85

2 questions:
1) Since this is above level 6, it would be unfair to place you in that category as you have +1 to hit and 1 more feat, and more money than they have, therefore are you comfortable with me placing this candidate among the level 12 candidates?
2) Is bravo dpr your final DPR?

1) I made it at 8th level because that was the earliest the Cutthroat Scrutiny became available. I can do the math for a level 6 build with Bravo only and go up to 12th. And yes, that is fine.

2) Yes but that's an unprepared no action point Nova as Bravo gives you +2 to Hit and damage against "your prey" until end of next turn. However the math is off for At-Will spam due to the addition of WF: Light blades. I will fix that when I am more fully awake.

Edit OK, still tired, I hate Mondays. Switching from Diurnal weekends to my Nocturnal Work Week always messes me up. Note that my previous calculations did not include the 2nd viscous die on +2 viscous weapon Crits.

Drow Scout Bravo Level 6

Dex 20

Background: Infiltrater (+2 Stealth)
Feats: Light Blade Expertise, Two-weapon fighting, Superior Reflexes, bravo
Aspects: Lurking Spider (aspect using for these calculations as CA is assumed), Charging Ram,
Lolthtouched: Cloud of Darkness
Trained Skills: Nature, Heal, Dungeoneering, Perception, Acrobatics, Stealth, Intimidate
Utilities: Oak Skin, Reactive Shift, Replaces Leaf Wall
Equipment: (I used a budget of 6400 gp as this is the same as level +1, = and -1 magic item + the amount of gold = to level -1, I believe only the Cloak and Armbands are uncommon) Veteran's Hide armor +1; Viscous Rapier +2, Viscous Shortsword +1; Iron Armbands of Power, Cloak of Resistance +1; Headband of perception

HP: 52 AC: 22 For: 17 Ref: 22 Will: 16

Methods of Generating Combat Advantage (assumed and using aspect of lurking Spider): Superior Reflexes, Cloud of Darkness, Leaf Wall (Daily)

Main Hand bonus to hit 17 = +5 (dex) + 3 (prof) +2 (enhance) +2 (CA) + 1 (LBE) +1 (FBM) + 3 (level) (90% chance to hit)
Main Hand bonus to Damage +13 = 5 (Dex) + 2 (enhance) +2 (IAoP) + 2 (ALS) + 1 (LBE) +1 (TWF)
Avg: 17.5 Crit: 34 (21 +6.5 + 6.5)

Dual Weapon Attack bonus to hit 16 = 5 dex + 3 prof + 1 enhance + 2 CA +1 LBE + 1 FBM +3 level
(85% chance to hit)
Dual Weapon Attack bonus to damage 12 = 5 dex + 1 enhance +2 IAoP + 2 ALS +1 LBE +1 TWF
Avg: 15.5 Crit: 21.5

Attacks assume Combat Advantage against AC 20 and Aspect of the Lurking Spider.

AT-WILL DPR:
Main Hand dpr 16.575 = (.85 x 17.5) + (.05 x 34)
Dual Weapon dpr 13.475 = .9((.8 x 15.5) + (.05 x 21.5))
At-Will DPR = 30.05

Bravo at will DPR: (+2 to hit and damage "prey" until end of next turn as a minor)
main hand DPR 19.35 = (.9 x 19.5) + (.05 x 36)
DWA DPR 16.07875 = .95((.9 x 17.5) + (.05 x 23.5))
AT-will Bravo DPR = 35.42875

Bravo Nova with Action point (can be followed with Bravo AT-will DPR next round if target is not dead):
At-will Bravo DPR + Bravo Main Hand DPR (AP) = 54.77875

a build that is optimized for charge DPR and little less; it assumes you've been bloodied and are using Shifting. I think we could afford 1 Blood Fury weapon to become bloodied 1st thing every encounter

Longtooth Shifter Avenger 6
Str 20
Feats:
Gorebrute Charge, Powerful Charge, Avenging Resolution, Invigorating Pursuit
Items:
Avalanche Maul +2, Horned Helm

MBA
Attack: +13 vs AC
Hit: 2d6x2 + 1d6 + 15.755 (with 1s & 2s considered 3s)
breakdown
3 (lvl) + 5 (Str) + 2 (Ench) + 2 (prof) + 1 (charge)
5 (Str) + 2 (Ench) + 2 (Shifting) + 3 (Gorebrute) + 2 (Powerful) + 1.755 (Pursuit)

the odds of me hitting previous round are 0.8775, so Invigorating Pursuit should, on average, contribute 1.755 damage

DPR ~ 34.64305 (Ch)

((1-(1-0.7)^2)-(1-(1-0.05)^2))*35.755 + (1-(1-0.05)^2)*57.355 = 34.64305

Melee Dragonborn Warlock; DPR 34.15
my level 1 warlock leveled; we still need to be bloodied

Dragonborn Warlock|Fighter 6
Str 18, Cha 20
Feats:
Curse of Io's Blood, Mindbite Scorn, Hybrid Talent: Weapon Talent, WE
Items:
Avalanche Maul +2, Horned Helm

Battle Fury Stance

Maul Eldritch Strike:
Attack: +16 vs AC
Hit: 2d6x2 + 2d6 + 1d6 + 16
breakdown
3 (lvl) + 5 (Cha) + 2 (Ench) + 2 (prof) + 1 (Dragonborn Fury) + 1 (class) + 1 (charge) + 1 (WE)
5 (Cha) + 2 (Ench) + 5 (Io's Blood) + 2 (stance)

DPR = 0.8*38.5+0.05*67 = 34.15 (Ch)

longtooth shifters, while shifting, make awesome chargers with Gorebrute Charge;
brightbane's druid can also be improved if we go that way

Show
more or less same assumptions as before
Longtooth Shifter Druid 6
Wis 20
Feats:
Gorebrute Charge, Ferocious Tiger Form, Enraged Boar Form, Powerful Charge
Items:
Staff of the Serpent +2, Claw Gloves, Iron Armbands of Power, Horned Helm

Pounce
Attack: +14 vs Ref
Hit: 1d8 + 1d6 + 1d6 + 1d10 + 20
breakdown
3 (lvl) + 5 (Wis) + 2 (Ench) + 1 (Form) + 1 (charge) + 2 (CA)
5 (Wis) + 2 (Ench) + 2 (Shifting) + 3 (Gorebrute) + 2 (Enraged) + 2 (Ferocious) + 2 (Powerful) + 2 (Armbands)

DPR = 0.8*37+0.05*59 = 32.55 (CA, Ch)

DPR = 32.55 (CA, Ch)

and the discussion:
I think we're overthinking this. it's a DPR competition (compilation). more or less any entry will venture outside it's role into strikers (unless it's posted here only for comparison). what are leaders and defenders doing in DPR Kings thread, anyway?

I would also request separation by level back.
