Hi all,
I have a question about determining party strength with regards to adjusting AL adventures. I understand how to determine my group's APL. What I'm not sure about is the "determining party strength" table. To what are you supposed to compare your party's APL in order to determine whether it's above average or whatever? The optimized party level?
Let's use "Herald of the Moon" as an example, since that's the one I've been looking at most recently. It says it's for levels 5-10 but is optimized for five 8th level PCs. If I have a party of three 5th level PCs, I'm going to assume that they would constitute a "very weak" party, but how do I know for sure? Am I supposed to compare the party's APL (which conveniently is 5) against the optimized APL of 8? I certainly get a "very weak" result in that case. Am I doing it correctly?
