D&D 4E 4e Monk question.

So I've been seeing a lot of talk about using a club with 4e Monk.

Is this exclusively for Crashing Tempest Style or is there another reason to justify running around with a mediocre weapon?

So it's entirely done for Crashing Tempest Style?

Yes, like Mellored said. And since you mentioned the mediocracy of clubs in your own post, it's worth pointing out that you don't use clubs as your implement; you offhand them for the bonus to your flurry, and then main hand whatever implement your build prefers, such as daggers, heavy blades, crossbows, or spears. Ki focuses are valid enough I suppose, so it's also worth mentioning that when using them, you're probably best off treating your second weapon like your club - something that qualifies you for a feat when held, but isn't used for attacking.
