Sounds a bit fishy to me, especially if he can't provide adventure documentation. But I haven't played every adventure. If it happened, I imagine it meant potions of healing, as you can't buy magic items prior to just recently. Wven if it's the case, it would require a TON of DTD. Even a simple potion of healing is 10 days with an hebalism kit, and your DTD are significantly more valuable than that.
