D&D is launching a VR game soon

Personally I'm waiting for interactive Augmented Reality LARPing to be a thing - just imagine the possibilities of freaking out the Mundies (and possibly being arrested) as you barrel through the city fighting AR dragons and then try to infiltrate the goblin camp at Walmart

Chess?!

Well, that's about as different from D&D gameplay as you can get. Doesn't bode well for the future of D&D VR products.

This is a good first step towards an actual D&D game:

Obviously (or not), this looks a LOT better inside VR than it does on screen.

Imagine something like a VR Neverwinter Nights.

Crystal Rift ... now THAT's what I'm talking about. Now imagine that with even better modeling and animation!

VR D&D but you can only play chess? Give me a break! It's almost like someone is TRYING to fail.

It was made by the same people who made Windlands, which is actually a good game, and not just a tech demo, so it's clear that they have the potential to make something really good in the future.

This one looks pretty cool:

Not really a fan of the way they use teleportation as a game mechanic here, though.
